Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsey Albert.
Hi Chelsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
The truth is, I never knew what exactly I wanted to be when I grew up, I’ve always been a healer. From the beauty industry to being the unofficial sales office therapist, it’s just how I’m wired….Y’know as I think about it…I feel like it’s that way for a lot of us. We spend a third of our lives convincing ourselves that we’re looking for our purpose…only to realize we’ve been doing it in one way or another our entire lives. Eventually, your purpose sort of taps you on the shoulder and says “Are ya ready to admit this to yourself yet?”
Even though the story of my healing journey began with moving from California to Tennessee in 2015, my healing practice began a few years later after finally putting all of my healing to the ultimate test…and leaving a toxic, mentally, and emotionally manipulative marriage. But even after the divorce, I still had all these self-berating thoughts bouncing off the walls of my brain. But despite seeing every kind of therapist in the books, traditional therapists, psychiatrists, energy healers, my hair stylist…I couldn’t stop thinking about them!
Half-jokingly suspecting that I had been hypnotized or something, I called up the hypnotist who later became another teacher and mentor of mine, and said “So dude…can you, like…dehypnotize me?” I had one session and one follow-up with him and I have, to this day, never thought the same way again…no joke! Furthermore, 4 months later, I met my current boyfriend and for the past 4 years, it’s been the sweetest, healthiest, safest relationship I’ve ever experienced! I’m not saying we would never have met…but I swear, changing my unconscious beliefs prepared me to receive this level of love. So naturally, I had the epiphany… “I have to learn this!
Since then, I’ve been so honored to be a part of so many incredible healing journeys. I’ve witnessed clients who had been stuck in other healing methods for months or years experience the shifts they were hoping for in their first session. Over the years, my heart and my specialty have gravitated toward helping my clients heal panic attacks, phobias (including the fear of flying), stubborn past traumas, and toxic self-sabotaging patterns.
One of my greatest surprises is the evolution and healing that I have gone through in this process (ohhh the irony right?) I work with people from all walks of life, but I had always assumed I would work with primarily women and help them heal the traumas that caused codependency, anxiety, and looking for notoriously the wrong type (like myself.) But lately, I have been working with a lot of men as well and realizing that there is a whole faction of dudes out there who need healing but either doesn’t know where to start or don’t want to sit and talk about their feelings once a week.
Oddly enough, my particular style of healing resonates with a group of people (mostly men, but some women as well) who need to process…but don’t enjoy feeling feelings. Hypnotherapy helps people experience processing and healing and cuts through a lot of the swampy “talking it out” process. It’s endlessly fun stuff!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I hope there’s someone on a non-traditional path reading this!
Creating a business out of your calling is not for the faint of heart! On one hand, I am so in love with my career that I knew I couldn’t take the route of having a day job and being a healer on the weekends with friends and family. Some choose that route, and it works beautifully! I had to go full throttle.
However, it tests my self-esteem and my resilience regularly. Not just because of the roller-coaster nature of starting a business. That weekly anxiety is a given in the beginning. More so, it’s a unique thing to take your purpose, your gifts, and this thing in your heart that keeps pulling you forward…and submit it for public approval.
I consider myself to be a healer. So the challenge I faced repeatedly early on was “What if they didn’t heal?!” It took repeated resilience and quite a few breakdowns to get beyond the idea that I had any say in how someone received my sessions. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shown up with my full care and integrity, fully in flow, the works…and the client left without much feedback. Not even a tiny hint of being as sparkly as I thought they should be.
But by the same token, I’ve had just as many sessions where my client will reveal that some comment I had made, which I thought was only a sliver of the big experience was the exact thing that changed their life.
After years and soooo much work on this with my mentor, I realized that building a practice or a business out of your calling is no different than creating art, being an athlete, or being a teacher. The only thing you can do is show up with your fullest integrity, come from a place of love, dedicate your whole heart and attention to the person or moment in front of you…and let people receive it however they will.
Once I grasped that, everything changed. My sessions became twice as powerful, my business grew, and my confidence skyrocketed. Sure, each new endeavor I pursue in this path is going to challenge my self-esteem, my resilience, and my dedication in new and probably terrifying ways, but the greatest peace after surviving a challenge…is knowing that you can almost certainly survive the next one!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Chelsey Albert Healing?
My particular style of Intuitive Hypnotherapy is kinda like therapy for people who don’t like to feel feelings. Accessing the unconscious root of any issue is the most direct route to healing.
And, for myself, I don’t like to waste time. My people tend to be the ones who are done with feeling stuck or feeling like they just can’t get past this one…thing! By the time they’ve tried everything from self-help books to talking about the issue, I’m usually the last stop.
“Hypnotherapy? Screw it, I’ll try anything at this point!”
Most of my clients have struggled with anxiety and panic attacks for years. Many also have a long track record of finding themselves in toxic relationships or other painful situations that keep happening no matter how many times they swear that the next time things will be different. Healing and reprogramming the unconscious mind takes the effort out of coping. It’s as if once the source of the anxiety or self-sabotage has been healed, the rest of the painful outcomes fall off pretty naturally….sort of like killing the original vampire in old horror movies.
There are several ways to work with me. 1-1 sessions are remarkably effective and great for when you need to make a shift, like, yesterday. I am also stoked to announce that I have launched my healing membership, The Catalyst. This is for those who are self-motivated, desiring to make a shift in their own lives, and seeking a daily healing workout that guides you through healing and expanding into the next level you… again, without necessarily having to talk about it. We do bi-weekly group coaching calls to answer questions along the way and you get my intuitive insight on where you might be “stuck.”
However, if you choose to work with me, if you’re ready for work that feels like it’s working, you are my people and I’d love to set up a call to get to know you!
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
If anything I said in this article, on my socials, or in any other setting resonated with you, I already know you’re a good fit.
The only thing I ever ask of my clients is that they take that first courageous step to be curious about what’s under the surface. If that sounds like your jam, then I’m with you every step of the way. Life is too short to be living with half of your mind living in anxiety.
