Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Armbrust.
Hi Courtney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my career in public relations in NYC and fell in love with planning and hosting media events for clients.
As I continued my career in both PR and marketing, I started managing more events projects independently and after nearly 10 years working at agencies, I left my job to start my own events company serving clients in the luxury and wine & spirits industries.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always challenges as a business owner. The biggest struggle for me was the pandemic, like many others, as it completely shut down my business since people could not gather for events. However, during this time, we were able to survive by offering gifting services for clients.
Since our corporate clients could not host events in person, we helped them create beautiful and interactive gift kits that were shipped directly to recipients so that they can still experience the brand, but in the safety of their homes.
This inadvertently added a new service to our business, which we are still offering today.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the Founder & Principal of Meridian Events, a full-service production company specializing in events, hospitality, and gifting for luxury brands.
Our team successfully brings to life our clients’ brand stories in a beautiful, exciting, and interactive way. Our clients often turn to us to plan and execute VIP & celebrity events, experiential moments, incentive trips, corporate retreats, hospitality for executives, and more. We are passionate about producing unique and memorable experiences for our clients that ultimately build brand loyalty with their clientele and foster sales.
We operate nationally and internationally and are a proud AAPI and women-owned business. We’ve been named a Top Event Planner by The Vendry, and have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Yahoo News and PartySlate.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I always loved hosting friends at my house, which eventually turned into throwing parties as I got older.
Bringing people together, in a fun and exciting way, has always been a passion of mine, which naturally made me gravitate towards event planning as a career.
