Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Mulloy

Diane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I didn’t start out to be an entrepreneur, I really just wanted to make a difference in the world. I came to Nashville from Sumner county in 1982 to attend Vanderbilt University. My career began in association management and government affairs until I took a pause to raise my three children and do volunteer work. I served on the first Metro Solid Waste Board under Mayor Bredson, on Mayor Dean’s Green Ribbon Committee and on various non-profit boards in Nashville including serving as President of parent association at my daughters’ school. I returned to the workforce in 2006 co-founding Milagro Biofuels and paving the way for cleaner alternative fuels in Tennessee. My passion for holistic health and wellness paired with watching the debilitating and declining health of my mother led to my interest in becoming an Osteostrong Franchise owner in 2015, to help us all age stronger. Originally owning 6 centers in Middle Tennessee, I am currently celebrating 10 years at Green Hills and Belle Meade centers. This year I hired my daughter, Natalie Mulloy to join the team full time using her background in public health, communications and operations. It is wonderful to be able to teach entrepreneurial skills to the next generation of women.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Personal challenges: trying to balance raising healthy, active kids, a husband with a busy career and travel, and aging and sick parents while also running a start up business was definitely challenging. Having a supportive spouse, and the village of people around us and timing the return to work around my children’s schooling was key.
Business Challenges: There are always many challenges in starting a cutting edge business with big bold claims; I had mine, including an initial skepticism from the medical community. However after much outreach and a few years of amazing results for our clients, doctors became our top referral source. Clients were literally reversing osteoporosis using our 10 minute weekly sessions. Obviously the biggest obstacle was Covid and having to restructure how we processed our clients’ sessions. And of course, it is always a challenge to articulate what we do because it is so cutting edge. Osteostrong technology is a biohack and trying to explain that to our demographic of 50-75 year olds is still a challenge.
