Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Moss.

Hi Dominique, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
“Sometimes it’s the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.”- Drake I am a firm believer in trusting your process. The road will have holes but it doesn’t mean you’ll never make it to your destination. It just takes time. Most times, I like to drive my vehicle around the city without GPS to challenge myself.

You may think I’m crazy, but I just like to see if I can continue to drive even when I may not know where I’m going. You’ll catch that later. My name is Dominique Moss from Kansas City, Mo. I came to Nashville, TN in 2017 and attended Fisk University. I recently graduated in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Concentration in Criminal Justice. The start of my lash dream developed during a huge transitioning phase of my life. It felt like a complete start over.

Natural Lashes have always been an interest to me since forever. I started out doing clustered lashes on myself and later for some of the girls while on campus. During my freshman year in college (2017), my love for lashes began to develop the more I had clients. After a while, life began to feel different for me starting my sophomore year in college (Fall 2018), which made me want to chase my passion more. Later that same year (spring 2019), I became a Certified Lash Technician. My business name is LorainLash which stands for both mine and my mother’s middle name. Although, that isn’t how we spell our middle names the pronunciation is the same.

I recently opened up a Lash Suite on Dickerson Pike and I love the atmosphere. Since I started doing lashes, I’ve always kept a comforting, safe, and relaxed environment for clients. I would even do house call visits and still show up in enough time to set up and create a relaxing environment for me and the clients even for their home. This service causes relaxation not only to the mind but everything is at peace. Creating the best atmosphere for any session is a start to new friendships and more clients which is a lifelong dream for LorainLash.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey isn’t the easiest but I can say it’s the best thing I’ve ever experienced. I’ve learned to never second guess myself since I started working as a business owner. Having people genuinely support and love your process is a major key.

Honestly, anything that causes you to elevate comes with baggage you’ve never asked for. This is why the road hasn’t always been smooth. However, my smooth path outweighs my rocky path, if someone is reading this and needs a little motivation.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LorainLash?
I’m known for lash extensions. I specialize in classic, hybrid, and volume lash extensions. Hybrid Lash extensions is considered a “best-seller,” everyone’s favorite. The uniqueness of every lash set makes me different from others. Each session is personalized to fit the customer.

As far as the type of music that is being played, the length the client wants, how long the client wants his/her lashes, and what dimension fits their eye. Each customer has a different shape eye. So, it’s important to do what’s best for them. I am most proud of the consistency with my business so far. My brand offers a lash set that brings out an enhancement we all love to see.

What makes you happy?
Honestly, alot of things make me happy. I’m a very extroverted Lash Tech. Sometimes I catch myself overly engaging in some of my client’s stories as if I was in their shoes. My family makes me happy as well. My parents and siblings go above and beyond to be sure LorainLash stays afloat. Also, in my free time, I enjoy being around my friends and working with middle school girls (5th-8th grade). I started mentoring young girls for many years. It brings me joy to be a part of a child’s life as they continue to grow into young adults.
