Inspiring Conversations with Fawn Larson of Fawn Larson Copy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fawn Larson.

Fawn Larson

Hi Fawn, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always loved writing. I think the earliest sign was when I was around 8 years old and decided I was going to be a Hallmark card writer when I grew up. (That hasn’t happened…YET!) I’ve always been drawn to anything in the creative writing world – songwriting, poetry, short stories, etc. In college, I pursued a degree in Public Relations.

That opened the door to working in marketing which lit my brain up. One of my first jobs was working for an environmental engineering firm. A lot of my work at that firm involved taking technical information and turning it into something concise and compelling. I love the challenge of honing in on what matters most to an audience.

To me, copywriting isn’t just about words – it’s about psychology. As an empathetic person, (to a fault possibly!), I find it quite natural to imagine what a demographic might feel and what matters to them. I’m grateful for that skill because copywriting is all about putting yourself in another’s shoes to relay information in the most effective way possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a fairly organic and smooth road to where I am right now in my copywriting career. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a LOT of passions. That has manifested in multiple side hustles and starting a couple of businesses.

What I come back to again and again, though, in all of my pursuits, is that I love the branding and messaging side of business. I love that I now get to use that passion to help other people with their businesses as well.

As you know, we’re big fans of Fawn Larson Copy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a freelance copywriter, and I work with businesses to refine their messaging and create compelling content. I specialize in crafting copy for websites, email marketing campaigns, product descriptions, advertising, blogs, and social media. I feel like my clients know me as an enthusiastic partner who they can rely on for fresh ideas and meaningful content.

As a freelancer, I can have a helpful “outsider’s perspective” when working with new clients, which is what many businesses need. We all get stuck sometimes, and that is why I feel like hiring a freelancer is often so helpful. I love getting to work in different industries and with a variety of clients. It keeps me sharp!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
To stay flexible and open-minded! Let life surprise you with opportunities!
