Inspiring Conversations with Greg Moore of Veteran Vending, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Moore.

Greg, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Husband, father, Army veteran. After returning from Iraq in 2005, I started a screen printing and embroidery business in Saranac Lake, NY. For 17 years we grew and added 2 retail stores in Lake Placid and became a New York State Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business. We sold the business in 2022 and moved to Tennessee in 2023. After doing extensive renovation work on our home I wanted to start another business that was flexible enough (for now) to be able to spend as much quality time with my wife and son as possible. I chose vending and started Veteran Vending, LLC.

We work with businesses, schools, and facilities to design vending solutions that fit your traffic, tastes, and budget. Want classic snacks and drinks? We’ll stock them. Prefer premium or grab-and-go meals? We’ll source them. Interested in healthier choices for a wellness program? We can build that, too. Our approach is simple: listen first, customize second, service always.

Whether you’d like to add a new vending machine or replace outdated equipment, we deliver cashless, energy-efficient machines backed by responsive service and consistent stocking. You can count on clean, fully operational equipment and a partner who genuinely cares about your satisfaction.

As a veteran-owned company, we operate with integrity, punctuality, and respect. You’ll get clean, well-maintained equipment and a single point of contact who stands behind every machine.

Beyond vending, we’re passionate about supporting fellow veterans and encouraging entrepreneurship through example and opportunity.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
A new state bring new challenges like not knowing people and leaving all of my connections behind. I am looking to make new ones here in Middle Tennessee and be able to provide a dependable service that was forged through my many years in the military.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Veteran Vending, LLC is a local, veteran-owned vending company serving Middle Tennessee, focused on bringing dependable, modern vending service back to the places that rely on it every day — dealerships, manufacturing facilities, offices, and high-traffic workplaces.
What we do is simple: we install and service snack and beverage machines that are clean, stocked, priced fairly, and actually maintained the way they should be. Where we really stand out is in the consistency and responsiveness. A lot of people have had bad experiences with vending — machines left empty, outdated products, service calls ignored, or pricing that makes no sense. We built our business specifically to solve those problems and earn trust long-term.
We specialize in custom vending solutions, meaning we don’t take a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Each location is different, and we work directly with the decision-makers to build a product mix that fits their staff and customers — whether that’s classic snacks, better-for-you options, energy drinks, protein-focused items, or a balanced mix of everything. Our goal is to make vending a reliable convenience again, not a frustration.
What sets us apart most is that we treat every location like it matters — because it does. We’re hands-on, we communicate, and we show up. As a veteran-owned business, I carry a strong sense of accountability into how we operate. If we say something will be handled, it gets handled.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that Veteran Vending is being built on integrity, service, and community, and I’m doing it with a long-term mission in mind: creating opportunities for other veterans down the road as the company grows.
If there’s one thing I’d want readers to know, it’s this: we’re local, responsive, and committed to doing vending the right way — with real service behind it, and a setup that makes life easier for the businesses we partner with.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was the kind of person who took pride in showing up, working hard, and doing things the right way — even when no one was watching. I got my first job at 14 and spent my summers working for a small, family-owned shop that made colonial-era brooms, bellows, and feather dusters.
I was usually given the dirtiest jobs, and it wasn’t always fun, but I committed to it and stuck with it for three summers. Looking back, that experience built a work ethic that never left me. It taught me that reliability matters, consistency matters, and that the “small” jobs are often the ones that make the biggest difference.
That same mindset is exactly what I bring into Veteran Vending today. I genuinely enjoy being out in the field and hearing directly from employees and customers at the locations I service — whether it’s a simple thank you, a suggestion, or a request for something they’d like to see in the machines.
I’ve always enjoyed customer service and I take a lot of pride in doing a solid job that makes people’s day just a little easier and more enjoyable.
