Today we’d like to introduce you to Halee Sprinkle.
Hi Halee, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If you had told me 10 years ago that I’d be running my own marketing company, speaking in front of rooms full of people, mentoring entrepreneurs, and building a career around some of my favorite things, I’m not sure I would have believed you. But looking back, the pieces were always there.
I’ve always been someone with big ideas, a lot of energy, and a genuine curiosity about people. My professional background took me through the corporate and agency marketing worlds, where I gained valuable experience in strategy, communications, and understanding what makes businesses tick. But somewhere along the way, I started questioning what I wanted my own professional life to look like.
In 2017, Czech Yourself Marketing was born. I didn’t have every detail figured out, but I knew I had skills worth sharing and a personality I wasn’t interested in toning down to fit someone else’s expectations.
What I didn’t anticipate was how much owning a business would teach me about myself.
Over the years, I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes, explored industries I never imagined being part of, and met people who have genuinely changed my life. My work has evolved from primarily managing social media to becoming a strategic partner, creative problem solver, speaker, educator, and sometimes even a sounding board for fellow business owners.
I’ve also learned that entrepreneurship has seasons. There have been times when I said yes to nearly everything and times when I realized that being busy and being successful aren’t necessarily the same thing.
These days, I’m much more intentional about how I spend my time and the opportunities I pursue. I love that my career gives me room to be creative, contribute to my community, and still have a life full of adventures outside of work.
Perhaps the biggest surprise of this journey is that I didn’t just create a business. I created opportunities to become more of myself.
And while I still have plenty of ideas up my sleeve, I’m no longer chasing someone else’s version of success. I’m building one that feels like mine.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? Is that even a thing in entrepreneurship? Ha!
Absolutely not, and I think anyone who has owned a business for any length of time would agree that the challenges are just as much a part of the journey as the successes.
One of my biggest learning curves was realizing that being good at what you do and knowing how to run a business are two very different skill sets. Suddenly, you’re not just the creative or the marketing strategist. You’re also the salesperson, accountant, customer service department, and the person responsible for making every decision. There is not an instruction manual!
I’ve also had to learn some lessons the hard way, particularly when it comes to boundaries, valuing my expertise, and understanding that not every opportunity is the right opportunity. Early on, I felt pressure to say yes to everything. Over time, I’ve learned that saying no can be just as important to the health of your business as saying yes. As my friend Erika Biddix likes to say, “No is a full sentence.”
Another challenge has been navigating an industry that never stops changing. Social media and marketing evolve constantly, and staying relevant requires curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to keep learning. What worked beautifully six months ago might not work today!
And then there’s the mental side of entrepreneurship that people don’t always talk about. The uncertainty, the responsibility, the occasional self-doubt, and the realization that there’s no one else coming to make the tough decisions for you.
But those challenges have also shaped some of my greatest strengths. I’ve become more confident in my expertise and much more comfortable defining success on my own terms.
I’ve realized that growing a business doesn’t always mean taking on more clients or filling up your calendar. I’m at a point where I’m more selective about what I take on, who I work with, and how I spend my time. And I’ve learned there’s nothing wrong with changing things up when something isn’t working for you anymore.
The road hasn’t been smooth, but it has certainly been colorful, and I wouldn’t trade the lessons for anything!
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Czech Yourself Marketing?
Czech Yourself Marketing is a boutique marketing company I founded in 2017, built around creativity, connection, and helping businesses show up in ways that feel genuine to who they are.
Over the years, my business has evolved, and today I’m especially focused on two areas I genuinely love: **speaking engagements and social media management for the marine and recreational boating industries.**
Being an avid boater myself, the marine industry has become a natural fit for my business. I understand the boating lifestyle because I live it! From marina communities and boat clubs to businesses that serve people on the water, I love helping these brands tell their stories, showcase their people, and build relationships with their audiences.
Social media is so much more than posting pretty pictures of boats (although those certainly don’t hurt!). It’s about creating content that makes people want to be part of a community and an experience. I bring both marketing expertise and firsthand knowledge of the boating world to the table, which allows me to approach content from a perspective that isn’t just promotional.
The other side of my business that has really taken off is public speaking and training. I love getting in front of a room and helping people feel more confident about marketing themselves and their businesses. My speaking topics range from personal branding and social media strategy to artificial intelligence, marketing fundamentals, and the importance of keeping the human element in an increasingly digital world.
I’m not a stand-behind-the-podium-and-read-slides kind of speaker. I bring energy, humor, real-world examples, and practical takeaways that people can actually use. My goal is for attendees to leave feeling inspired, but more importantly, equipped to do something with what they’ve learned.
What sets Czech Yourself Marketing apart is that I don’t believe in cookie-cutter marketing. I take the time to understand the people behind the business, their goals, and the communities they serve. I also believe relationships matter just as much as results. My clients aren’t just another account on a spreadsheet.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that I’ve built a business that truly reflects my personality and values. The name is memorable, the approach is personal, and I’ve never felt the need to make myself or my business look like everyone else’s to be taken seriously.
At this stage in my career, I’m not trying to be everything to everyone. I’m focused on doing great work with great people, sharing what I’ve learned, and continuing to grow in areas that genuinely excite me.
And if I can help a few more people find their confidence, build their communities, or get out on the water along the way, even better!
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are several ways we can connect! I’m always excited to collaborate with businesses, organizations, and people who value creativity, community, and genuine relationships.
For businesses in the marine and recreational boating industries, I offer social media management and marketing strategy to help tell their stories, connect with their audiences, and build stronger communities around their brands.
I’m also available for speaking engagements, workshops, and training sessions on topics like personal branding, social media strategy, AI in marketing, and building authentic connections in a digital world. I love sharing what I’ve learned and helping others walk away with ideas they can actually put to use.
And supporting my business doesn’t always mean hiring me! Referrals, introductions, sharing my content, or simply recommending me when someone needs a speaker or marketing partner mean the world to me.
You can connect with me through Czech Yourself Marketing on social media or reach out directly. I’m always up for a good conversation, especially if it involves creative ideas, community connections, or boats!
