Today we’d like to introduce you to Hiral Vakilwala.
Hi Hiral, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hiral Vakilwala’s journey in physical therapy when she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy. What started as a desire to help others heal and regain independence soon transformed into a lifelong mission rooted in both professional excellence and deep personal experience.
With over 13 years of experience across a wide range of clinical settings—including Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC), hospital-based outpatient clinics, traditional outpatient care, and home health—Hiral developed a strong foundation in treating orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical patients. This broad exposure gave her a deep understanding of the human body’s healing process and the importance of personalized, compassionate care.
In pursuit of advanced clinical expertise, Hiral went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) and also completed a specialized certification in Pelvic Health. This advanced training sharpened her diagnostic skills, expanded her treatment approaches, and deepened her commitment to delivering patient-centered care in one of physical therapy’s most sensitive and underserved specialties.
But the most defining moment in her professional path came from a deeply personal experience—her own challenging pregnancy and C-section delivery. After giving birth, Hiral faced Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI), an all-too-common issue many women silently endure. Seeking help, she underwent Pelvic Health Physical Therapy herself, which not only led to her recovery but also sparked a newfound passion and purpose. She is pursuing Pelvic Rehab Fertility Specialist (PRFS™) certification to help optimize fertility journeys.
For the past 5+ years, Hiral has worked exclusively in Pelvic Health Physical Therapy, treating conditions like incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, and postpartum dysfunction with skill, sensitivity, and first-hand empathy. Her approach is holistic, evidence-based, and deeply compassionate—because she’s walked that path herself.
