Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Bouchard.
Hi Jack, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The idea for Acme Armi started when I was working at another firearms store in Murfreesboro. It used to be a destination store until customer service was no longer the priority. Profit margins and faster transaction became the goal. I no longer had the quality product to sell to customers and I was discouraged from spending so much time with each customer to help them find what they needed. I was disappointed in myself for selling items that were not right for the customer. I left that company and had to get out of firearms for a while. In the mean time I was managing a collection of firearms for a wealthy individual who has multiple businesses and contracts with government agencies. When we first met I gave him my idea/pitch for a personalized boutique style firearms shop that caters to higher end clients. At the time I had another full time job so it was just a dream until I was laid off. The week after getting laid off I met with the owner of the collection and he asked if I wanted to make that store idea a reality. It couldn’t have been anything other than Gods timing. In 2024 John Sanzo funded everything to get Acme Armi started, I was given the position of “General Manager” and we started stocking up. In early 2025 we opened to select clients and kept the store fairly hidden. By the middle of the year we opened it up to the public and did some small advertising. 2025 was a decent year of sales but the word was getting out and every one of my clients has enjoyed the time taken with them to find the right fit for them or just building out a unique rifle or pistol. as of now we have quadrupled our sales from last year with little to no advertising. Social media and word of mouth has been our biggest driving factory. I have had county music stars, famous podcasters, social media influencers come through and they have enjoyed the “by appointment” system since they are the only ones in the store and are not bothered by potential fans. We do not have a wall of signed pictures of the famous people that have come through to keep that anonymity. Every customer gets treated the same, from strangers to stars. I am in the firearms business because I absolutely love what I do. It is a hobby that the owner and I have turned into a business where I can give back the knowledge and experience I have gained over the years.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Getting Acme Armi off the ground has been much easier than I could have expected. Because this shop has been fully funded by the owner, John, I have been able to get things rolling quite quickly. The only struggle has been balancing advertising. Many platforms will not allow firearms advertising and the company we did use for advertising could not get out ads into certain venues. Navigating that has been a challenge but in the firearms world, word of mouth has been extremely helpful. Social media has been our biggest help.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Acme Armi is different from every other generic firearms shop you will walk into. I am not a guy behind a counter helping multiple customers and trying to sell you something with the highest profit margin. It is a one on one experience where I take the time to interview you about your shooting style and get to know you. From here, I can help guide you through the products we have and make sure what you get is the right selection. We will take a rifle off the wall and build it out with optics, mounts, lights, lasers, and silencers. If you require something we do not have I will help you find it even if I cant sell it to you from my shop. We specialize in defensive firearms like hand guns and close quarters rifles and investment items like NFA items and transferable machineguns.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
