Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Lawrence
Hi Jay , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I studied music business at Middle Tennessee State University which led to me working for Sony Music and Universal Music Group. 6 Square Academy was created in 2021 after a need for artist support during the pandemic which killed shows and tours for our artist.
Our artist needed help during that time to figure out ways to make money since they couldn’t do shows and they needed someone to talk to for support during that time as well. During that time we learned that a lot of these artist didn’t understand the music business and we were able to help educate them on the level that their on to understand where they careers lacked.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No the road hasn’t been smooth a smooth road because the majority of these artist don’t have the support they need to help them get thru their current situations. My biggest struggle is the having sufficient outlets and channels to really reach the masses of artist.

6 Square Academy is a boutique style consulting and development firm that thrives in the Mental Health and Education sector. We help individuals in any form of the entertainment industry i.e. Music and Sports understand and know proper ways to handle business and not just lean on the God given talents that they have. This company is unique because we not only support mental health but we educate to learn more of our clients. I am proud that we can be trusted source in a industry that can be harsh and cruel to help clients really flourish toward whatever goals that they have. Even though this nonprofit is based out of Nashville, we still help support anyone out of our market as well. Even though each market has specific needs but most of the information runs current thru the industry.
