Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Chavez.
Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started Babes In Business 5 years ago because I was networking for my other company, Helpful Rabbit (helpfulrabbit.com), and was not having any luck with the networking events in my area. Nothing seemed to fit what I was looking for and I was not getting any referrals or clients from going to them. That’s when I decided I would hold my own event. I figured it would be small, maybe 15 people would come and that would be the start! I created a logo, Instagram, Facebook, and website in a week and started to promote my little event!
Flash forward to the day of the event, it was pouring rain and I was hoping for my small crowd to show up… I was overwhelmed when 65 women filled the room. I was not expecting such a turnout and so much support right away! That’s when I knew everyone here was searching for what I had been searching for, a Tribe to call their own.
Babes In Business has grown like crazy since that day and the amount of women I get to help, collaborate with and watch grown is incredible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Some of the struggles Babes In Business has faced is building an event-based company during the pandemic. We were able to move all our events online. From the vendor tables, selfie booths, group activities, and panels – we moved the whole event successfully online using Zoom. It was amazing to see so many women come together during such a hard time.
Another struggle we faced was deciding to franchise our company and heavily invest in our brand. It has paid off bc we have been opening new locations and are constantly growing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Babes In Business?
Babes In Business is a place for women at any stage in business. Even if all you have is an idea, we want you to come and be inspired to start your business journey.
Our events are meant to facilitate connections, grow your tribe, create content, enjoy group activities and shop with local women-owned vendors.
We theme our events to highlight topics women business owners want to hear and talk about.
What sets us apart from other networking groups is that once you are in our Tribe we will support you like crazy and help you grow.
We have had Babes travel to all our events in Long Island, the Hamptons, Asbury Park, and Jersey City! They love traveling and going to all the events with friends.
What I would like readers to know is that we offer memberships so you can showcase your brand on our website and social media. We are also now selling Babes In Business Franchises across the United States. So if someone is interested they can visit babesinbusiness.com.
What are your plans for the future?
We are looking to open more Babes In Businesses in new locations!
We want to see more women start their own companies and support each other along the way
