Today we’d like to introduce you to John Pineiro.
Hi John, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
80s guitar player with degrees in music. Jazz Performance, Music Education. Masters in Jazz Performance guitar.
Started teaching mid 90’s, and learned the Pro Tools recording format. Built my first studio on Long Island, NY, and moved to Nashville in 2004. Built a pro tools studio and have worked with some of the finest musicians here in Music City.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
First off, being Hispanic has come with its own whole set of obstacles. Both my parents are of Puerto Rican backgrounds. The road has been bumpy my whole life.
I’ve managed to take all of the negativity in stride, and where it was coming from and build myself from that. At first, I would not let people know my background, but after having so much success here I don’t think it bothers anyone and if it does, that’s too bad. Proud of who I am and my Hispanic roots.
