Inspiring Conversations with Jordan Mulson of Dem Junky Boys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Mulson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’d be thrilled to! Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to share our story.

Back in April of 2025, our family was in the middle of a hectic, multi-day move across Clarksville. My oldest son Judah and I were in charge of loading, driving the moving truck between houses across town, and unloading. We were hot, dripping sweat, (a little moody) and exhausted. But in the middle of it all, we were laughing, joking, pushing each other’s buttons, and just enjoying time together.

I had the thought, “Man, if every day could be anywhere close to this – hanging out, working hard, and creating memories – day-to-day life would be pretty fantastic.”

And that thought eventually turned into a question for Judah (who had been dropping lil’ hints that he either wanted to start his own junk removal or lawn care service): “Hey bud, what if we started that junk removal business together once we get moved and settled in?”

Judah’s eyes lit up!

“Are you serious?! Heck yes!! Please?! Can we, for real?!”

And just like that, Dem Junky Boys was born.

(although the name was yet to come)

After we got moved in and a bit settled, we started working on the plan.

First, we had to come up with a name.

We didn’t want a boring “ABC Junk Removal” name. We wanted something real. Southern. Something full of personality that was gonna reflect who we really are.

We’re the type of guys who treat people like family. And our natural mix of hospitality, service, and humor is what inspired the name, Dem Junky Boys.

We’ve been serving folks for a few months now, and we’re not looking back!

The feedback we’ve received from our customers so far has been so encouraging, and we’re so grateful for the path we’re on.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Lol, nope – we’ve had to work for this!

We started out with no truck, no trailer, nothing. All we had was our old mini-van that my wife used to use for her cleaning business.

So we took the seats out to make some room and started doing removal jobs out of the back of the ol’ 2006 Town and Country.

One job in particular – a massive load of wood from a walk-in closet demolition – just about put the ol’ van in the graveyard. The load was so heavy, there was no suspension left to handle the bumps in the road, so we had to take it nice and slow.

During that drive, the radiator also started overheating due to an ongoing leak. So we had to make a pit stop, let it cool down, add some radiator fluid, and keep on trucking. Or, vanning, as it were.

And looking for a decently priced truck that would fit our needs and budget, was one of the biggest challenges of all.

The one we found, that we ended up with, had no title.

So we had to wait for the title to get re-issued, but it all fell into place over time.

As you know, we’re big fans of Dem Junky Boys. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We’re Jordan and Judah, the father-son duo behind Dem Junky Boys, a new junk removal service located in Clarksville, TN. “Your good ol’ boys for junk removal” is our slogan.

Born out of a sweaty moving day and a dose of raw teen-excitement, we’re on a mission to make junk removal in Clarksville (and beyond) as simple, friendly, and hassle-free as possible.

Forget franchises, out-of-town crews, or sketchy junk pickup peddlers. With “Dem Boys”, customers will always get a handshake (or fist-bump), a cheery southern smile, a quick laugh, and a job done right.

We help local Clarksville customers, both residential and commercial, keep their important spaces clear of unwanted items.

Whether it’s just an old hot water heater or a garage full of moldy memories and old boxes, we make getting it picked up and cleared out as easy as sending a text.

(we take calls too, but texts are so much cooler) 😎

Customers text in, we provide an estimate, they approve, and we grab.

And so far, the feedback has been super positive! Folks love being able to just text a few photos and a description, and get a response back with an estimate in as little as a few minutes. (but most times, it’s within an hour or two because we stay busy)

We pride ourselves on being down to earth and relatable. We aim to serve our customers like they’re already our friends. That just makes life and business way more enjoyable. And so far, folks love it.

How do you think about luck?
Anything that we have and become is by the goodness of God. So He will always get ultimate credit, because He comes first and from His goodness all other things flow.

So I wouldn’t call it luck, but we’re definitely grateful for the favor we’ve been shown so far.

Our first couple of customers were other businesses, friends of ours – Glass Therapy Clarksville and Prestige Drain Solutions – and their support has meant the world. They told others about us, and continue to do so, and they have been genuinely excited to help us and watch us grow. That’s priceless to us – knowing you’ve got good folks at your back cheering you on and pushing you ahead.

Beyond that, many of our customers have been kind enough to leave us rave reviews online and tell others about us too. So needless to say, we’re very grateful, excited, and optimistic for the future.

Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to share our story with Nashville Voyager, and the awesome communities here in wonderful Middle Tennessee!
