Today, we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Gatta.
Hi Lindsay, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I started this business officially last year, but if I am being honest, I’ve been honing this craft since I was a teenager! Actually, it all began when I won “best dressed” in high school, sparking my passion for helping friends and family find the perfect items, no matter the budget, size, or age…
That’s when I realized that what felt easy to me – shopping, cleaning out closets, searching for a unique dress, deciding between two tops, or pairing new items with old ones – was not easy for so many.
And that’s my goal: to make these kinds of things easy for you when working with me. I want to honor the things that make you feel like you while opening up the realm of possibilities for what will look and feel good on your body and your closet or home. Contrary to popular opinion, everyone has a unique sense of style – it’s about finding how to bring it front and center.
Nothing brings me more joy than helping people find that perfect thing – dress, shoe, bag, chair, rug, etc.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh gosh, no! I wish. The biggest struggle lately has been securing clients – I receive a lot of initial interest but not a ton of follow-through. I think that’s because there is some initial work my client and I need to do together to really get a sense of what exactly they want to get out of our engagement.
From there, I try to make it as easy and turn-key as possible. Another challenge is balancing my full-time workload with this one as this is a side hustle for me at the moment. It’s a good problem to have to be too busy, but things really do ebb and flow in terms of demand.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
While you might know me as a personal stylist and shopper, really what this ultimately means is that my customers should leave a meeting with me feeling empowered in their style and more confident in their everyday lives.
I specialize in helping people, particularly women, through key transitional moments in their lives – like a new mom who might be trying to figure out what will flatter her new shape or someone who just landed their first professional job and wants some turnkey looks to get out the door faster every morning.
What sets me apart is that I myself don’t look like a model, so I know what dressing for real people’s bodies actually takes. And the good news is – it is totally possible to feel like a supermodel without being one or following them on Instagram and feeling jealous of what they can (and you think you can’t) wear.
If you’re feeling ready for a style refresh, a wardrobe boost, or some advice on what to wear for that upcoming event, I’d love to work with you and help you feel your best.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from growing up.
I have many fond memories of my grandma, mom, and me going shopping together. When I was little, we would go to Nordstrom and have lunch at the cafe after. When I was in high school, we would go to the boutiques in downtown Chicago to look for prom dresses and accessories.
My grandma is one of my biggest fans to this day, and I even joined Instagram to follow @LetMeFindThat! She gives me feedback all the time – she texted me the other day to tell me she was not a fan of a dress I shared!
