Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Wolfe.
Hi Marc, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From photographing presidents to empowering leaders: My unexpected journey
My journey has been anything but ordinary. Imagine capturing unforgettable moments with a camera; one minute, you’re snapping a US President; the next, a famous author, NFL Teams, or even a supermodel. But then, a twist of fate led me to become an Apple computer dealer, and that’s where things started to cook.
Before iPods were even a twinkle in Steve Jobs’s eye, I started an Apple support company. Yes, you read that right. I was helping people navigate the world of Apple Computers before it became the tech giant it is today. Talk about being ahead of the curve.
But my passion wasn’t just about gadgets or sports teams. I discovered a deep desire to help others unlock their potential and experience transformational growth. So, I became an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach, drawing on my diverse experiences across healthcare, retail, finance, and more to offer practical insights and perspectives.
I needed more than just sharing my expertise. I wanted to reach a wider audience, so I contributed articles to Forbes.com and other renowned publications. I even became an INC5000 Executive Coach and a Primary Facilitator for Marshall Goldsmith MG100 Leaders Live, bringing impactful virtual collaboration to the table. And then, I added leadership topics via in-person workshops and nationwide keynote speeches.
Now, nestled outside the hustle and bustle of Nashville with my forever bride and family close by, I’m on a mission to create a lasting impact. My upcoming book, “Yeah, But… Cut Through The Noise To Live, Learn and Lead Better.”, delves deeper into the secrets of leadership and practical problem-solving, constantly fueled by new data points and skills I pick up along the way.
This is just the beginning of my story, and I invite you to join me on this wild ride. Buckle up, and get ready to be inspired.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My childhood was filled with me asking questions and being verbally confident. Unfortunately, that insatiable curiosity got me kicked out of a New Jersey public school in the fourth grade. The questions my classmates asked me were to help them understand the lesson, yet somehow the first-year teacher viewed me as disruptive. At nine years old, being told I was ‘had to leave’ stung. It was the first time I realized the education system might not always welcome different ways of learning.
Fast forward to adulthood, meeting my wife and becoming a father sparked a significant shift. Suddenly, work wasn’t everything. What truly excited me was helping others, like I used to in that classroom. That’s when it hit me: my passion wasn’t just about leadership but serving others. The struggle to align your career with your true calling is real, but the reward? Priceless.
My journey wasn’t a walk in the park. There were uncertainties, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But like my mom, who overcame poverty and divorce with sheer grit and her 100% Italian mindset, I learned to weather the storms. Today, I’m not just surviving; I’m thriving, and it’s all thanks to those bumps along the road.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I started as an entrepreneur and consultant before becoming a coach. This gives me a unique dual perspective. Simply put, I help turn “Conversations into Outcomes.”
I work with leaders who feel stuck and want to unlock how to get past their “Yeah but”. I also work with people who aren’t heard at work. They have ideas that can change an organization and need a strategy to take these ideas and turn them into outcomes. My role is showing how leadership is more than just about who has a title.
I draw on my business experience to understand clients’ operational struggles. But instead of only conveying solutions, my process is about asking the right questions so you gain insights, get answers, and keep the strategy going.
My brand represents the combined expertise of consultant-as-expert to coach-as-catalyst. I create the space for you to own your self-development as a leader and have a more significant impact on others. Offering workshops, keynotes, and team coaching with topics from crisis management to emotional intelligence and communication skills allows me to assist leaders and companies in many ways.
If you’re ready to transition from being told what to do to discovering your path forward, I guide leaders on that internal journey.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Not just my career but my entire life up to the present day is a mosaic of valuable experiences, challenges, and triumphs that have positioned me in a very unique way to guide others in their quest for healthy transformation and leadership excellence.
I’m very passionate about sharing my insights and helping both individuals and teams unlock their ultimate potential. Ask yourself – “If not me, then who? If not now, then when?”
