Mariela Vazquez Mata

I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León a city in north Mexico, I love go to the gym, spent time with my family, travel around the world. I consider myself as a creative and inovated. I got my degree as Engineering Administrator, but I grew up helping and seeing my dad making screen printing. When I moved to Nashville, it was a big challenge and change because my first language was Spanish and then I felt that I had to learn English and speak properly to have a position that could be relative to my degree.

The long story short story, I moved to Nashville for love, I fell in love with my husband in 2011, and he proposed to me back in 2017, by then we had a long distance relationship. He got a job here in Nashville, so we got married in 2018 and decided to move to Nashville. In 2021, I decided to start creating things, this idea came when my son was born, I felt like my purpose was somenthing where I can develope my skills being creative,dynamic and joyfull, and I founded Eclart Designs, .Invested in machines, courses related to design, and publicity, and everything started felt more like me, and the way that I want to help others, I spent full nights creating and practice.

Since then, it has been a full year of challenges I have learned so much from networking, from the community Nashville Latina Bosses, Viridiana De Leon my friend and creator of NLB helped me to find resources and learn that more Latinas are creating their own business gave me the strength and courage to follow up my dreams and ideas. Also, the ELLA program and Avanzando from TNLACC helped me run my business properly. It has been a challenge to become an entrepreneur. In August, my husband and I decided to work together as a family business.

The main struggles along the way in managing everything, as an entrepreneur.

I had to do accounting, sales, social media, and production,  learn everthing about this country, laws, and such and at the same time as a woman raising my baby boy, sometimes I thought it would be easier if I started before my baby borned, but he gave me the mindset to start Eclart Designs.

My business name is Eclart Designs, my main purpose is to help other businesses to show up their brand by screen printing, merch, publicity, signs, screen printing, and digital services.

Our Mission is “We bring creative ideas to life”. I see Eclart Designs’ future as a big company giving opportunities to have the best quality and support in English and Spanish.

We have the best customer service and quality. Also, as a local business, our delivery times in the Nashville area can be as soon as 1-2 days.

My big challenge for 2024 will be to start to study again, I want to keep growing as a person and become and publicity and merchandise expert.

Having a local store and or storage, and 5/10 employees. Also, we want to become and Nacional be able to deliveries all around the country.
