Inspiring Conversations with Queona ‘q’ Duff of Qreative Art Massage

Today we’d like to introduce you to Queona ‘q’ Duff

Hi Queona ‘Q’, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Queona Duff. Most people just call me ‘Q.’ I was born and raised in Nashville, TN. I worked in retail for 7 years (in sales and management positions). The last job in retail made me realize I didn’t love it anymore; and I needed to find something else. I always wanted to be in the healthcare field but once you get to a certain age going to school for a long time just isn’t ideal. So as I was doing my research, massage therapy was the first thing that would pop up. I took that as a sign, that massage therapy was a career I needed to be pursuing. I started Nashville School of Massage Therapy, January 2021 and graduated July 2021. December 2021, I started working for a company and I’m still there. In 2023, l decided to go to Aveda Arts and Sciences Institute for their Esthiology program. Now, I’m dual licensed in Tennessee as a Massage Therapist and an Esthetician. After school, I decided it was time to open up my own business, Qreative Art Massage, it’s located on the inside of My Salon Suites in Hermitage. If it wasn’t for my friend/classmate in beauty school, who gave me the deposit for my suite; my business wouldn’t be where it’s at today!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I was in an accident a week before my grand opening.
Another struggle along the way was the fluctuation of finances, finding clientele, etc.
It has not been a smooth road but I think that’s just apart of the journey and I’m enjoying the ups and downs of being a being a business owner because everyday is a learning experience!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Qreative Art Massage is a Massage Therapy Practice. I am the business owner and the only therapist.
I specialize in Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Prenatal. I offer 45min-120min services.
And I also offer add-ons like foot scrubs, steam eye mask, CBD spot treatment, and aromatherapy.
I started my business because I wanted it to be helpful healthwise and financially affordable. Everybody deserves healthcare and self-care. People go through a lot on a day to day basis whether it’s mental health issues, financial issues, job stresses, family, etc. and they should be able to enjoy some type of self-care for themselves. I think what sets me apart from others is that I understand pain. Ive been through carpal tunnel surgery (2019), and two surgeries on my left knee (2020,2022). And plus some other things since the accident. What I deal with helps me be more precise while massaging/working on someone else.
When it comes to my brand, I’m proud of the fact that people are actually noticing it! That I’m getting appointments not just from social media posts but Google searches, and word of mouth! I’m proud that it’s still going and growing.

What matters most to you? Why?
Family and friends because honestly I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without them and their love and support!
