Inspiring Conversations with Samantha Emmons of BAISAM

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Emmons.

Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Sam Emmons, founder of BAISAM, a Nashville-based demi-fine jewelry brand. At my core, I’ve always been a storyteller — and jewelry became my medium. It’s how I connect identity, presence, and power, both for myself and for others.

I didn’t build BAISAM to fit in. I built it because I never felt like I did. Growing up, I often felt caught in the in-between — too much or not enough, too loud or too quiet, never quite fitting into the boxes around me. Life felt like it was happening in grayscale, and I found myself softening my edges just to belong.

Jewelry was always what pulled me out of that. It wasn’t just an accessory; it was a reminder of who I was before I started to dim myself. A ring, a necklace, a pair of hoops — they turned the ordinary into something extraordinary. The right piece didn’t just finish an outfit, it shifted how I moved through the world. Jewelry became my armor, my way of carrying memory and identity, even when I felt lost.

Still, I couldn’t find jewelry that reflected the tension I felt inside myself. Everything was either too trendy, too fragile, or too out of reach. I wanted pieces that embodied contrast: bold yet wearable, sculptural yet subtle, luxurious yet attainable. I wanted something that also lived in the gray space — between grit and glamour, rebellion and refinement, strength and softness. So I created it.

That’s the space where BAISAM was born. It’s my personal rebellion against blending in turned into a brand. BAISAM reflects the way I see the world: that true luxury doesn’t live in perfection or absolutes, but in the moments in between. Between roots and reinvention, grit and glamour, the woman I was and the one I was becoming. It’s a brand built in contrast, in the tension that makes us feel most alive. That edge is what defines our pieces — jewelry that embodies duality.

For me, true luxury isn’t reserved for rare occasions or locked away in a vault. It lives in the moments we often overlook: the way the light catches your ring when you reach for a glass of wine, the layered clink of necklaces as you walk down the block, the pause between the breakdown and the breakthrough. Those in-between moments are where identity is tested, power is found, and presence is undeniable.

Today, BAISAM is accessible luxury with bite — demi-fine jewelry designed as wearable art. Crafted in precious metals, designed with intention, and priced to be tangible, not untouchable. It’s jewelry for the multifaceted and magnetic, for the ones rewriting the rules.

But more than that, it’s an extension of my own journey. It carries my story, but it’s meant to live in yours. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt in-between, who refuses to shrink, and who’s ready to carry their story like armor. It’s about definition. It’s for people who embrace contradiction, and who understand that luxury should live where we do — in the in-between.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not smooth. Like most creative journeys, mine has been full of tension — and honestly, that’s part of why BAISAM exists. I’ve had to navigate the doubts that come with starting something new, the frustration of slow growth, and the reality of wearing every hat at once as a founder. There were times I questioned whether I was moving fast enough or if people would ever see the vision I saw so clearly.

The hardest part wasn’t the logistics — it was keeping faith in the in-between moments, when the outcome wasn’t obvious. The days where the website traffic was low, the emails went unanswered, or I wondered if I was doing enough. Those are the moments that tested me, but they’re also what shaped the brand’s ethos. BAISAM was born in that space — between uncertainty and possibility.

Every setback pushed me to create with more intention. It reminded me that luxury isn’t about ease or perfection, but about presence and persistence. And honestly, I think the struggles gave BAISAM its edge.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
BAISAM is a Nashville-based demi-fine jewelry house launched in 2025. We create sculptural pieces on a sterling silver base with a thick layer of 18k gold vermeil. That craftsmanship makes every design durable, lasting, and elevated — while still being accessible.

We specialize in demi-fine jewelry, but what truly sets us apart is our commitment to duality and intention. Every piece is designed in contrast — bold yet wearable, sculptural yet subtle, editorial yet effortless. Nothing is accidental: from form to finish, each detail is deliberate. Our collections are created to move fluidly between the everyday and the extraordinary, to layer and evolve, to become part of your story.

At BAISAM, we’re redefining luxury so it doesn’t sit behind glass or feel untouchable. We believe it should live in the in-between, where most of life really happens. Our designs are made to be attainable luxury for the ones still becoming — the ones writing their own story, moving between grit and glam, strength and softness.

What I’m most proud of is that BAISAM reflects both my journey and the energy of the people who wear it. It’s not just adornment; it’s definition. Jewelry that speaks before you do, that feels like armor as much as art, that turns fleeting moments into something unforgettable — and will live through your story, because something so close to you should be designed to last.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I want readers to know that BAISAM was built for them. It’s not about exclusivity or perfection — it’s about presence. Luxury doesn’t have to be distant or untouchable; it can be lived in every day. It can be the small details that shift how you carry yourself, the moments that remind you of your own edge.

If there’s one thing I’d leave you with, it’s this: don’t wait for the “right” moment to step into your story. You’re already in it. And if BAISAM can play even a small role in helping you feel stronger, seen, and unforgettable in the in-between, then I’ve done my job.
