Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Igoe

Suzanne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started in Esthetics with working at a Spa in Midtown Atlanta as a Shampoo Girl/Receptionist. I would say i was a late bloomer. I didn’t have a solid path I was following. I was 29 and really needed to figure it out. Honestly, Esthetics found me. I became friends with the Esthetician at the Spa and she gave me my first facial and I was in love! I have need been so motivated in my life prior to that day. It hit me like a ton of bricks. By the following week I had applied for Esthetic School and I was making plans.
I worked for a Spa for 5 years and decided to go off on my own. PURE Face Care was born July of 2011. I was solo in Decatur, Ga. I moved to Chattanooga, Tn in 2015. I was solo for 3 years then brought on and employee. I did have a few in Atlanta here and there but I didn’t seem successful at it. I wasn’t in Chattanooga either. So, After I let her go I felt that solo was my path. Then I met Hannah and she instilled faith in me that it could work. Then 2020 hit. We all know how that ended. She decided to go her own way and I went solo.. again!
Then there was Melody! She was a challenge at first, it was hit or miss in the beginning but we made it, and we learned and grew together. Now 5 years later, we are a team of 7. I joke that I didn’t have kids I hired them and now they are my family and friends. I care for them deeply and would trust my life with any one of them.. I feel so much gratitude when my feet hit the floor every morning.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been smooth. But, has it been worth it? Heck YES! I discussed some of my staff struggles earlier. I want to express that even though it is hard to have employees and at times it seems it shouldn’t happen. If I had stopped when it was hard, would not be where I am today. I could NOT do it without them.
Other struggles would be when you get scammed by a company that is supposed to fix a machine and they ghost you. I was out $2000. That was hard, and it hurt.
COVID, was a nightmare. Truly, a business owners nightmare. However, what came out of it was a person who is now prepared. It taught me a valuable and needed lesson. I started reducing my purchases, investing it what I already owned, increase by continuing education and increased my savings account. I sleep so much better at night
