Today we’d like to introduce you to Tameka McDonald.
Hi Tameka, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, my story began as a proof operator at First American Bank when I was 19 years old where I gained my experience and knowledge for Business.
At the age of 20, I had to have an internal defibrillator implanted to control my fast heart rhythm (ventricular tachycardia). I could have chosen to be on disability but I refuse to allow my condition to control me. I knew God had so much in store for me that I just kept living my life like it was golden despite my medical condition. I learned a lot working at the Bank so I decided to major in Business. I currently hold a Bachelor in Business Management and a Master in Business Administration. I have over 25 plus years of combined experience in Banking/Accounting/Finance.
I’m happily married to a wonderful Alabama (Roll Tide) man. I have two beautiful smart daughters, two handsome grandsons, and one beautiful granddaughter. I’m grateful to have such a supportive and loving family. In 2022, my oldest daughter, my mom, and my uncle shared with me how much their rent was going up and I was oblivious to the price. I thought about it and prayed on it and decided to get my real estate license in June of 2023 so I can help my daughter, family members, and others who are renting become homeowners.
