Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Our journey started in 2016 when we first heard about the cat cafe concept on the TV show Shark Tank. Our love for cats intrigued us on the idea and we spent the next few years turning that dream into a reality. Now we have been open for 6 years and found homes for almost 1000 rescue cats.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been far from easy to get where we are today. We opened in 2019 and after only 9 months we were faced with the Covid-19 pandemic. We made it through all of the shut downs and restrictions only to be faced with an unexpected relocation when our landlord leased our space to a new tenant. It was terrifying at the time, and money we didn’t have to spend. Fortunately, the second location is far better than the first, so we find it as a blessing.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Catfeine Cat Cafe?
Catfeine serves as a foster home for adoptable rescue cats in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. All of our cats are from local non-profit rescues, including Tennessee Whiskers, a new rescue launched this year in which I am a founding member and serve as President.
Catfeine offers an adorable lounge where people can come and hang out with 20 cats! We are a clean, cage free environment that offers a wonderful opportunity to find your purrfect kitty friend, or just get some kitty cuddles and playtime. We do visits by the hour and it’s $12.00 per person for ages 10 and up.
We are not a full cafe due to health department regulations, but do offer a variety of drinks and package snacks. We also have a really cute retail shop with great gifts for cat lovers!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have always loved cats and music. My husband and I moved to Nashville in 2001 to pursue music, but our dreams changed through the years and we couldn’t be happier with where our journey has taken us and all we have accomplished.
