Inspiring Conversations with Tiffany Napper of Upleveler Society

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Napper.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I always joke that I got here by walking through the fire myself. Everything I do and teach now is a direct result of having my own wins and failures – some small, some not-so-small.

In 2011, after traveling the world running PR for Yamaha artist relations, working with international stars including John Legend, Elton John, and Sarah McLachlan, I left it all behind to start my own PR and branding agency.

I lept into the world of entrepreneurship with no outside funding – just a whole lot of experience, grit, and determination. And things were really good.

In 2013, I launched a handbag line that unexpectedly blew up and became as profitable as the agency. Both businesses needed more people and more space, so I developed a co-working space in New Orleans and invited all of my creative friends to join me – a space to work, collaborate, and grow.

Fast forward a few years of wearing lots of hats, and by 2016, to the outside world, I had it all. I was on the radio and on magazine covers, and I loved my work. But my stress-levels were through the roof, I had long ago abandoned my yoga practice, and my garden was a rotten corner in my backyard. My relationships were suffering, and I felt trapped by the life I had worked so hard to create.

Eventually, I hit a “burnout rock bottom” of sorts.

People don’t tell you that coming home to who you really are – courageously expanding and upleveling – isn’t linear. You are a constant work of art in motion.

In 2017, I hired a business coach, and I started shrinking the chaos. As I pursued the magic — the passion space — I found my calling in holistic business coaching for female founders. Running the Upleveler Society has been more rewarding than anything I’ve accomplished to date.

These days, my self-titled PR agency runs like clockwork, and I get to spend time doing what I love: overseeing creative ideas and helping ambitious women grow their empires while ensuring that they don’t forget to enjoy the journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?

Where to begin! In the early days, I struggled with knowing my value and sending invoices regularly.

As time marched on, I improved my invoicing system, but I lost my way leading a team without proper documentation of the way we do business – workflows were minimal and an operator’s manual was nonexistent. But even five years in, my comfort level with numbers was still my biggest challenge.

It wasn’t until I decided to truly dedicate myself to improving my money mindset and fall in love with numbers that I truly started to see things take off with my business. I have a few business coaches, my yoga mat, and Jen Sincero to thank for that.

That’s why I’m so passionate about teaching talented, creative businesswomen how to set prices that allow for growth and sustainability and how to feel confident playing with their numbers. As creatives, we often have spent our lives hearing or thinking that we aren’t good with numbers. And that’s only true if we let it be true.

News flash: letting it be true can cause havoc on your entrepreneurial journey.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
The Upleveler Society provides coaching and community for female founders who are ready to step off the hamster wheel and into a life of wild abundance and joy.

In a nutshell, we help creative and talented businesswomen take deep breaths and have deeper pockets. While money isn’t the be-all-end-all, we do believe that the world will be a better place when more money is in the hands of heart-driven women.

As an Upleveler, the one thing you’ll notice is that we put an equal emphasis on strategy and heart. Sure, this might be a smart next step to grow your business, but how does it feel? Does it feel aligned with your big picture vision? If not, let’s find another way.

You’ll also notice that we don’t glamorize the hustle. Will taking your business to the next level require work? Of course, it will. Does it mean you need to sacrifice your health and well-being and work through the weekends? Nope, it sure doesn’t. Rest is productive.

So while we will dive into spreadsheets with you and find ways to increase your profit margin, and while we will teach you how to maximize your branding and marketing efforts to increase your leads, we will also lead you through breathwork, provide a virtual yoga session, and send you an affirmation to repeat as you forge your way.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Nashville has expansive energy – from the way she’s adapted and grown over the last decade, to the way she holds space for your big dreams. This city has truly helped me step into a better version of myself, and it’s shown me nothing has to be done alone.

The only thing I don’t love is the “woo” thing. If you know, you know.
