We recently had the chance to connect with Jakeena Geobani and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Jakeena , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
What I am most proud of building, though it isn’t always visible, is the freedom and peace I’ve created for myself since leaving the corporate world and fully stepping into my business, Keena Konnects. This journey has allowed me to expand my work to include wedding celebrant services, which has been such a fulfilling addition. Marrying couples of all kinds and being trusted to honor their love story fills me with joy. My services are intentionally inclusive, because I believe every person deserves to be celebrated and accepted in love. Finding your person is a blessing, and being able to stand alongside couples as they make that commitment is truly part of my purpose
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jakeena Geobani, and I am the owner and founder of Keena Konnects LLC. I started this business from a deep passion for helping people connect more fully with themselves, with others, and with life’s most meaningful moments. As a certified life and relationship coach, I guide individuals and couples in discovering self-awareness, building stronger relationships, and stepping into their purpose. Over time, Keena Konnects has grown to also include wedding officiant and celebrant services, which allows me the honor of joining couples in one of the most sacred and joyful commitments of their lives.
What makes Keena Konnects unique is the heart behind it, I truly believe love and connection are the foundation of a fulfilled life. My services are inclusive, open to all, and built on the belief that everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Whether I’m coaching someone through a season of growth or officiating a wedding, my mission is always the same: to empower, uplift, and create experiences that leave people feeling valued and connected. Right now, I am expanding my work to reach more couples and communities, and I’m excited about the opportunity to continue creating spaces where love and purpose can flourish,
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What often breaks the bond between people is a lack of communication, understanding, and grace. When we stop listening to each other, when assumptions replace clarity, or when unresolved hurt builds up, the connection begins to weaken. Life’s pressures, unspoken expectations, and even past wounds can all create distance in relationships.
What restores bonds is intentional effort. Choosing to listen with empathy, to speak honestly yet kindly, and to extend forgiveness. Restoring connection takes vulnerability and a willingness to meet each other where you are. I’ve seen time and again that when people feel truly heard, valued, and accepted, healing begins. Love is restored not through perfection, but through patience, communication, and a shared commitment to grow together
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life has been never fully feeling accepted or believing that I was enough. Growing up with labels, facing challenging life experiences, and being bullied or spoken down to left deep marks on my sense of self. Those moments of mistreatment and feeling unseen shaped me in painful ways, but they also became the soil where my purpose grew.
My healing came through self-awareness, faith, therapy, and doing the hard inner work of reclaiming my worth. Over time, I transformed those wounds into wisdom and empathy. No one should have to bear the pain of feeling unsafe, unloved, or unseen, and that conviction birthed Keena Konnects. Everything I do through my business is rooted in creating spaces where people feel safe, respected, and valued, because I know firsthand how powerful and life-changing it is to be truly seen.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what really matters to me is people—helping them feel seen, valued, and loved. They’d probably tell you I care deeply about creating safe, uplifting spaces where others can be themselves without judgment. They’d also say that purpose and integrity guide everything I do. Whether it’s through my business, my personal life, or just showing up for someone in a hard moment, I strive to make sure people know they matter and that their story has value.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think what some people may misunderstand about my legacy is my intention. From the outside, pursuing my purpose and building Keena Konnects might be seen as selfish, self-serving, or even not genuine. But the truth is, my work has never been about me, it’s about others. It’s about taking my own wounds, struggles, and lessons and transforming them into a source of healing and empowerment for the people I serve.
Legacy can be tricky, because people often interpret it through their own lens. But I hope, in time, it will be clear that my legacy is one of love, inclusion, and connection. I want to leave behind a reminder that every person is worthy of being celebrated, respected, and deeply seen. If I’m misunderstood along the way, I can accept that, because the greater mission—the lives touched, the couples united, the individuals who walk away with more self-awareness and confidence. This speaks louder than any misconception. My legacy will not be measured by opinions, but by the impact of the love and freedom I helped others discover.
