Kelly Weaver on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Kelly Weaver and have shared our conversation below.

Kelly, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
We are walking a path. My husband has always been very driven, no matter what he is focused on and I am determined to help him see it through.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kelly Weaver, my husband Chris and I bought a machine shop about 8 years ago. Through our contacts with that we were able to start a logistics company. With absolutely no experience at all we have built it from one truck and trailer to 7 or 8 vehicles on the road every day. We have been going strong for three years.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The employee. I am no longer stressing for someone else’s profit. The worry and stress that we deal with now is ours and we do it for the benefit for our family.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Just keep going. Even if you mess up and it looks like nothing will work out keep going. Find something you love and hang on to it, always use that as your goal. Failure is not the end, giving up is.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
My husbands, even if I dont agree sometimes lol
His plans always seem to work out. I trust that he knows what he is doing and is doing what is best for our family

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Our dedication. No is never the answer to a customer. We always figure out a way to make it happen. We know that good service will lead to happy customers.
