Lauryn Dunkle of Columbia tn on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Lauryn Dunkle and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauryn, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Adhd wandering inner dialogue makes me lose track of time.
I have yet to find a good way to control it 😅

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a licensed 6 yr tn tattoo artist.
But I’m also just your local relatable goofball. I never grew out of being the weird artsy fartsy kid. I do customized and flash tattoos as well as provide a chill “hangout with friends” experience in the tattoo studio.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
The bond builder and breaker is communication. From body language, tone of voice, choice of words or lack of; these little things make big impacts.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
How to get back up.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes and no. I don’t put out anything that isn’t truthful, but I’ve notice people always have their own interpretation about you based on their own past experiences.
And even if their own biases don’t get in the way of them viewing the other, it’s not like they are gonna see the whole picture instantly. There’s so many fascets of an individual. I like to make sourdough, garden, and tend to my chickens. However I also like motorcycles, serendipitous adventures, and I will flick off every cop I see while driving my subi. Like I’m loud, resilient and rebellious while also enjoying “grannie” hobbies and live relatively a “boring” day to day life. There’s a diversity to everyone and it takes years of interaction with an individual to actually know them.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
I’ve been working on a large flower and bamboo garden for privacy. It really makes me realize how impatient I can be
