Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Austin Lane

We recently had the chance to connect with Austin Lane and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What are you chasing, and what would happen if you stopped?
I’m always chasing goals. I try to set goals for myself. Whether they’re big or small I try to set goals, that way I’m always striving to better myself. I’m currently chasing the dream to become a success artist/songwriter. It’s something I’m very passionate about. It’s not an easy task to achieve, but I’m willing to put in the work and have been for some time now. When it comes to stopping, I never will. I don’t have that type of mindset. I keep pushing forward.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Austin Lane. I’m a country music artist. I’ve been playing music and singing since I was little. I produce and write all of my material and also play most of the instruments on my records. When I’m not working my day job I’m traveling all over the southeast playing shows. I also play in Las Vegas multiple times a year. I’m currently in the process of working on new music. I’m hoping to get a new single out soon! You can find all of my original music on all streaming platforms.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
It’s hard to pin point it down to one moment. Over time and experiencing life I feel like it constantly changes. Sometimes the world can seem like a terrible place, but then other times people can restore your faith in humanity.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There have been multiple times where I have questioned whether to keep going or to stop. There’s always going to be struggles in life with everything you do. I always come back to the saying “if it was easy everyone would do it.” That always keeps me pushing forward.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say so. I don’t change who I am for anyone. What you see is what you get.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I was a nice and passionate person. I try my best to be a good person. Lately I’ve been trying to better myself not only for myself but for others as well.
