Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Brittany Sensabaugh

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Brittany Sensabaugh. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think a huge misconception not just in my business but in real estate is whole is that realtors just put a sign in the yard and collect a 3% commission. The reality is, in my business, I make contact with someone who I might not even close a deal with until 6 months from that initial meeting. We may see one house or we may see 10. Once we find the one we love then the true work comes in of negotiating and fighting for my client. With seller’s, I’ve at times personally cleaned and decluttered their home to get it to market. When I think of how I would describe what my job looks like, it can be compared to a duck, where from the outside it looks like I’m still and calm but underneath the surface I’m swimming like crazy to get my clients across the finish line.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Brittany Sensabaugh, a Nashville-based real estate agent with The Gomes Agency. I bring over 5 years of experience in the title industry, which gave me a solid foundation and a behind-the-scenes understanding of how deals really get done. Now as an agent, I use that knowledge to make the process smoother, more transparent, and less stressful for my clients.

What sets me apart is how I blend my real estate expertise with a genuine love for helping people build lives and legacies they’re proud of. Whether you’re buying your first home, investing, or selling something special, I’m here to make it feel personal, empowering, and even a little fun. I’m also expanding my brand and committed to helping more people navigate the real estate market with clarity and confidence.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
I’ve noticed that staying complacent in different areas of life, whether in relationships, career, or even family dynamics can really hold us back. I’m learning to let go of the need to always be the person everyone expects me to be. Instead, I’m focusing on finding my own voice, following my intuition, and doing what truly brings me joy and aligns with my ‘why.’ It’s all about embracing who I am and not just going with the crowd.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Embracing the idea that life inherently includes suffering, as in Buddhist philosophy, has shown me that trying to avoid difficult times only intensifies them. Instead, by accepting and even embracing those challenges, I’ve learned to truly appreciate the good moments. Suffering brings a depth of understanding, resilience, and gratitude that success alone can’t provide. It shows me what truly matters, helps me grow, and makes the moments of success all the more meaningful.

In real estate, there are definitely a lot of wins, but there’s also a lot of behind-the-scenes struggle that often goes unseen. For every ‘yes,’ there are plenty of ‘no’s,’ and a fair share of challenges and setbacks. But it’s exactly those tough moments that make the victories that much sweeter and more rewarding. Those experiences have taught me resilience, perseverance, and the importance of celebrating every success.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would tell you that what really matters to me is not just being seen as a good person, but truly living that out by doing good and being good. I always try to keep a positive outlook and be considerate of others’ feelings, even if it sometimes means putting myself on the line. They also know that I’m incredibly driven and that helping others is at the heart of everything I do. I genuinely love motivating those around me and seeing them succeed, because at the end of the day, their wins feel like my wins too.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes, I’ve definitely experienced getting what I thought I wanted, only to find that it didn’t truly satisfy me. That realization was actually a turning point for me and helped me pivot toward figuring out my deeper ‘why,’ which ultimately led me into real estate. I was in a position where I was making the money I thought would make me happy, and while I absolutely believe in being rewarded for doing what you love and helping others, I also realized that money alone can’t give you that sense of purpose or fulfillment. It was through that experience that I learned what truly motivates me and brings me joy, and it’s so much more than just the financial aspect.
