We recently had the chance to connect with Jamecka Lindsey and have shared our conversation below.
Jamecka, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think a lot of people are secretly struggling with feeling like they’re enough. Enough for their families, enough for their jobs, enough for themselves. Everybody’s smiling, posting, working, showing up-but inside they’re questioning if they measure up. And no one wants to admit that out loud because it sounds like weakness, but it’s really just being human. I think we’re all carrying something we don’t post about.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Jamecka “J. Elle” Lindsey, the heart and energy behind Coffee, Curves, ’n Conversation—a lifestyle brand rooted in empowerment, sisterhood, and unapologetic authenticity. As a proud Virgo and member of Delta Psi Rho Sorority, Inc., I bring humor, heart, and excellence into everything I do. Born and raised in Detroit, I made Nashville home in 2016, and it’s here that I’ve experienced some of the most transformative years of my life. This city has witnessed my growth, my healing, and the evolution of the woman I am today.
My brand, Coffee, Curves, ‘n Conversation, is a reflection of that evolution and was born in 2018 from my natural gift for connection. I’ve always been the one people turn to for advice, laughter, and light—and I realized those qualities weren’t just personality traits, they were purpose. So, I paired them with my love for social media and created a space where women could feel seen, supported, and inspired.
CCC is more than a brand—it’s a movement. It’s where empowerment meets real talk, and where women are reminded that self-worth is non-negotiable. Through motivational content, community service, and sisterhood, I show that being powerful doesn’t mean being perfect. My platform is a place where women can sip, laugh, and be reminded that thriving takes both grace and grit.
However, recently, I’ve experienced an awakening—a deeper vision for myself and the impact I want to make. That clarity has inspired me to reimagine CCC, aligning it more closely with the woman I’ve become and the community I continue to build. I often say I’m “grown and glowing,” and it’s true. My lived experiences have become a blueprint for resilience, style, and unapologetic joy.
I’m not just building a brand—I’m building a legacy. One that reflects my heart, my healing, and my hope for every woman who’s ever felt unseen. Transformation doesn’t happen in silence—it happens when we choose to show up, speak out, and stand tall in our truth. I’m stepping boldly into this next season, rebranding not just my platform, but my purpose. Because I’m not just here to inspire—I’m here to ignite. And trust me, the best is yet to come.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother—may her soul rest in peace—saw me clearly long before I could see myself. She was my biggest cheerleader, believing in me even when I struggled to believe in myself. Growing up, she would often tell me I was destined to be a CEO one day. It wasn’t until recently that I realized she didn’t mean the CEO of someone else’s company—she meant the CEO of my own.
Much of who I am and what I do today is rooted in her influence. I watched her, alongside my mother, work tirelessly and selflessly for others in our community. Their strength, resilience, and compassion shaped my values and inspired the way I live my life. Today, I’m known for my hard work, my resilience, and the joy I find in uplifting my community—and I carry forward the legacy of both my grandmother and my mother, whose example continues to guide me every day.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Truthfully, I just stopped hiding my pain. In June, I underwent a total hysterectomy with my ovaries removed—a devastating loss that meant I would never be able to birth children naturally. What hurt even more was learning that the pain I’d endured for years was due to undiagnosed endometriosis. For over 25 years, I believed I was failing myself as a woman, when in reality, my health hadn’t been taken seriously until it was too late.
But I’ve decided that pain has consumed me long enough. I’m reclaiming my life and choosing to live fully. Pain only holds power when we feed it energy—and I’ve chosen to redirect mine toward healing, growth, and purpose.
When I shared my story on social media, I was overwhelmed by messages from women who had been silently carrying the same pain. My vulnerability gave them permission to speak their truth. That’s when I realized just how vital Coffee, Curves, ‘n Conversation truly is. My mission is to empower women to embrace their self-confidence, honor their self-worth, and feel safe sharing their stories with the world. This experience has awakened a new version of me—and sparked a desire to rebrand Coffee, Curves, ‘n Conversation to reflect that transformation. I’m taking back control of my life, and I love the woman I’m becoming.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Me. I am the most important project I’m committed to—and it’s a lifelong journey. My goal is to continuously evolve, grow, and learn. I believe that by investing in my personal development, I’ll always have a meaningful story to share. My life experiences will keep me relatable to others, allowing me to inspire, motivate, and empower my audience. That’s my ultimate mission—and it starts with me.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Absolutely. I give 110% in everything I do—not for praise or recognition, but because it comes from the heart. I’ve been blessed time and again throughout my life, and I believe that to be blessed, you must also be a blessing. There’s a unique joy in seeing someone smile, knowing that something I did made a difference. That’s all the reward I need—a full heart and the quiet satisfaction of knowing I’ve poured goodness into the world.
And honestly, I don’t even mind when people record the good they do. It feels good to know that others are out there making a difference too. Seeing those moments shared reminds me that kindness is alive and well—and that we’re all part of a greater movement to uplift and inspire.
