We’re looking forward to introducing you to Thomas Boutros. Check out our conversation below.
Thomas, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A typical wedding day for me starts early with setup at the venue, usually a few hours before guests arrive. I handle everything from connecting sound systems, testing microphones, setting up the DJ booth, and preparing the playlist tailored to the couple’s preferences. Once guests start arriving, I provide a seamless soundtrack, from ceremony music to cocktail hour tunes. During the reception, I coordinate with the wedding planner or coordinator to make sure key moments like the grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, and bouquet toss happen smoothly. Throughout the night, I read the crowd, mixing music to keep everyone dancing and energized, all while making sure transitions and announcements are flawless. After the last song, I pack up my equipment and make sure the venue is left just as I found it. Each wedding is different, but my focus is always on creating unforgettable memories and a fun, stress-free experience for the couple and their guests.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Thomas, the face behind Dynamic Excitement, a Nashville-based DJ and event entertainment company specializing in weddings and corporate events. I bring more than just music to every event—I create unforgettable experiences with personalized playlists, high-quality photo booths, custom lighting, and show-stopping special effects like dancing-on-the-clouds and cold sparklers. What makes my brand unique is the attention to detail and energy I bring: I don’t just play songs, I read the room, coordinate seamlessly with planners, and make every moment—from the first dance to the last song—truly memorable. Right now, I’m focused on expanding our entertainment offerings, perfecting client experiences, and helping couples and companies host events that guests will remember for years.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I used to be a structural engineer.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of not being good enough or failing publicly – Putting yourself on stage, literally, in front of hundreds of people, or trying a new business venture, always carries the risk of falling short.
Fear of rejection or negative feedback – From couples, clients, or even venues; the idea that someone might not love your work can make you hesitate to fully put yourself out there.
Fear of stepping outside your comfort zone – For example, experimenting with new entertainment offerings (special effects, new music styles, or expanding your appliance business) might feel risky.
Fear of financial uncertainty – Every new business, investment, or even booking decision comes with potential loss, which can hold you back from taking bold steps.
Fear of losing control – Delegating tasks or trusting partners/vendors might make you anxious, even though doing so can allow growth.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes its me and I love every part of it.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
The Energy and Presence – You don’t just play songs; you read the room, adapt on the fly, and keep the dance floor alive from the first dance to the last song. Couples would miss someone who brings real-time excitement and a personal touch to every moment.
Seamless Coordination – Many couples rely on you to cue everything perfectly—grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss, and even special effects. Without you, the flow of their wedding might feel less polished and coordinated.
Memorable Experiences – From cloud machines and cold sparklers to high-quality photo booths, you provide moments that make weddings unforgettable. Your absence would leave a gap where wow-factor memories used to be.
Personalized Music Curation – You don’t just play what’s trending; you customize playlists to reflect each couple’s style and guests’ energy, something off-the-shelf DJs can’t replicate.
Peace of Mind – Couples trust you to handle the entertainment so they can focus on enjoying their day. Losing you would mean losing that confidence that every detail is taken care of.
