Hi Alicia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After earning my master’s degree from Full Sail University, I had a new plan, new goals, and a relentless hunger for success. The day after graduation, I moved back to Nashville with tunnel vision, determined to make an impact. I landed my dream job writing and producing videos, while also securing a freelance position with another prominent company in the city.

My best friend and business partner, Dez, was already freelancing and building his own clientele. He started bringing me along on shoots, and together, we were thriving in our creative element. But then the pandemic hit, and the world shut down. Suddenly, we were faced with a critical question: How can we fulfill a need during this time?

That’s when an opportunity at Fisk University presented itself, and we decided to go all in. From that moment, Moment of Creation Studio was born. We took a leap of faith and started a business right in the middle of a global shutdown and we’ve been growing ever since.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’d say it’s been a gentle ride on a bumpy road, challenging but full of growth. There have been mistakes, moments of doubt, and plenty of lessons along the way. MOC Studio has been just as much a personal journey as it has been a business one.

One of the biggest realizations for me was that I was my own biggest obstacle. Every day, fear crept in, not because I lacked the ability, but because I wanted this to succeed so badly that it scared me. The weight of knowing that this path was exactly what my grandma manifested for me made it feel like this was not just my dream and letting her down has never been an option.

But what I’m still learning is that on the other side of fear is wisdom. Every challenge, every misstep is either a lesson in what doesn’t work or a new piece of knowledge that will serve me later. Growth isn’t always comfortable, but it’s necessary and every step, even the hardest ones, have been worth it.

Our business is built around the power of live streaming, bridging the gap between in-person experiences and global audiences. Born out of the pandemic’s challenges, we recognized the growing need for seamless, high-quality virtual event coverage that keeps people informed, engaged, and connected.
