Hi Amber , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Amber! I’m 25 years old and recently made the big move from North Dakota to Nashville in February 2024 with no close friends. I’ve always dreamed of living in a vibrant city, and I finally took the plunge. Nashville has always held a special place in my heart, and I knew I needed to step out of my comfort zone and leave the Midwest to pursue something more. I believe that growth comes from embracing discomfort, and I was ready for the challenge. Plus, with my love for having a good time and country music, Nashville was the perfect fit! I was able to find some roommates and friends on Facebook and start from there.
I’ve always been passionate about social media, and I saw this move as a golden opportunity to expand my portfolio, even though I didn’t have much experience. Since arriving in Nashville, my social media presence has blossomed, allowing me to showcase who I am and connect with amazing new friends and collaborators. Influencing isn’t as easy as it looks, but it’s incredibly rewarding. I love sharing my everyday life, fashion tips, modeling adventures, and all the latest happenings in Nashville—whether it’s events, bars, restaurants, or new brands. I thrive on it all!
Putting yourself out there takes courage, but trust me, it’s worth it. I live by the motto “You only live once,” and I firmly believe that if you don’t take a shot at your dreams, you’ll never know what could have been. So, take the leap and chase your passions!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Adjusting to a New City: Moving from North Dakota to Nashville is a big change. Adapting to a new environment, finding your way around, and building a new social circle can be challenging.
Homesickness: Leaving behind family and friends in North Dakota might have been tough, and you might have experienced moments of homesickness.
Building a Social Media Presence: Starting with little experience in social media influencing can be daunting. Gaining followers, creating engaging content, and standing out in a crowded space requires a lot of effort and creativity.
Balancing Personal Life and Work: As an influencer, your personal life often overlaps with your work. Finding a balance between sharing your life online and maintaining some privacy can be tricky.
Dealing with Criticism: Putting yourself out there on social media opens you up to both positive and negative feedback. Handling criticism and staying motivated despite any negative comments can be challenging.
Financial Stability: Initially, moving to a new city and starting a career in social media might have come with financial uncertainties. Managing expenses and ensuring a steady income could have been a concern.
Networking and Collaborations: Building connections and securing collaborations with brands and other influencers takes time and persistence. It might have been challenging to establish these relationships initially.
Staying Consistent: Maintaining a consistent posting schedule and continuously coming up with fresh content ideas can be demanding and sometimes overwhelming.

What’s next?
My goal for the future is to become a full-time social media influencer. This involves continuing to grow your online presence, expanding your portfolio, and building strong connections with my audience and brands. Right now my focus is on content creation, engagement, brand collaborations, networking, and learning more about monetizing off social media. Something that i am looking forward to is really creating my own personal brand and business. I have not reached that point yet but plan to.
