Today we’d like to introduce you to Anisha Pachisia.
Hi Anisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my account for fun junior year of college, where things were slowly opening up because of COVID restrictions in 2021 and me and my roommates were looking to explore the LA food scene. While I had always been in charge of finding new places to try with my family, I found that I was taking the same initiative with my friends. I like trying new places and making sure there are enough options on the menu to fit everyone’s dietary restrictions and personal preferences, and through doing research, I have been lucky enough to find my go-tos. Personally, I am a vegetarian but I have had the privilege of living in cities that offer such diverse options when it comes to food that I have never felt restricted, but can give my honest opinions on “viral” places since those don’t tend to cater to everyone.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it takes time to grow a following, but ultimately, it is based on trust. I have also recently learned that you need to tailor content so that it can reach a greater audience. For example, on Instagram, Reels tend to perform better than grid posts, so I am more mindful of the type of content I capture when visiting restaurants.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I look at this account as a hobby and as a form of expressing my creative self, which is very different from my profession in finance. I like to capture food content through the lens of someone who is vegetarian, and sometimes options tend to be limited, but I don’t like that factor inhibiting me from trying new things. I am always curious to learn about different flavor profiles that I have learned about through traveling and trying different cuisines, and how I can incorporate them into my lifestyle. I have started cooking more, and it is a nice tool-kit to have, especially when you are hosting/recommending places, as you can offer an arsenal of recommendations.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I visited Nashville with my college roomates and we were in awe of the energy that the city has, and how it caters to all age groups. At brunches, we saw multiple bachelorrete celebrations and on a night out, we met all sorts of groups of people that were all there to enjoy music and have a good time. Whether you liked country music or wanted to listen to pop-throwback, all of that seemed to be offered under the same roof.
