Life & Work with Bailey Gower of Clarksville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Gower.

Hi Bailey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since I was knee high to a grasshopper I loved visuals of film. I loved the colors, texture, and context. I loved how each element with lighting to camera movement told the story in such a sentimental way. I was 17 years old when I received my first digital camera and I have been using it since! I do not care much about the real nerdy technical aspects I just want a meaningful image.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The struggles I have dealt with have been self inflicted. I am constantly judging and critiquing every photo or video I do. I want the best image I can produce with what I have. Even if I love it, I want to do even better on the next ones. If there is one thing I do not like, I throw it in the bin and delete it. I want perfection.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am currently a mix of Photographer, Cinematographer, and Videographer. I want to specialize in Cinematography as a my source of income currently. I am know for my photography at the moment through instagram. I have been on the platform since 2017 and have networked with a lot of great artist who inspire me every day. I am most proud of my compositions in my work and how I can really strike the viewer with how objects are lit. I do not like to write, but instead prefer to speak with images either it be still or moving.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I love observing life. The way light falls on objects and platforms. The way water moves through a stream hits surfaces in its path. I love the little things, the things we never acknowledge as we should.
