Life & Work with BossLady Savage

Today we’d like to introduce you to BossLady Savage.

Hi BossLady, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got into music around the age of 9. At 16 I did my first show in Huntsville, Alabama where I’m originally from, and had the opportunity to open up for the Artist MoneyBagg Yo. That opened many avenues for me. After I started to grow in Huntsville, I started building a name in surrounding cities like Decatur, Athens, Florence, and Pulaski. For me, it wasn’t enough. I knew the world was so much bigger than what I was doing at that time. So, at 17, I graduated high school and moved to Nashville, TN to attend the illustrious Tennessee State University and that’s where it all really started for me. I started booking shows, traveling, and eventually modeling. For me, it’s art. This is only the beginning.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not. Where I’m from, not too many people make it out. Being one of the few who did, I’m forever grateful. In the end, aside from the music I make, the pictures I take, and all the people who know or know of me I’m still a human being. I have the same feelings and headaches as everyone else. Everyone is not going to like you, what you do, or how you do it. In the end, all that matters is me being true to myself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a musical artist, entrepreneur, and a model. Music is my specialty. You can find me on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, and More! I have no set genre because I like to play around with a bit of all of it. I can say I’m most proud of my growth and balance in all 3. I don’t have to force myself to do it, I do it because I want to and I enjoy it. It allows me to express myself freely and I just keep working to get better at it. I differ from others in many ways but I like to think that the main things that sets me apart from others is that I’m real. I don’t pretend to be something I’m not. I don’t want to fit into the crowd or follow the trends, I do my own thing. I don’t want to be something that the world has already seen. So, when they see me, I’ll shine bright like the light that my spirit carries.
