Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Meadows
Hi Brittany, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
As a teenager, I had some pretty big goals and dreams. At some point along the way in my 20s, I felt like the time to achieve those dreams had passed me by and I needed to let those dreams go. I had a variety of jobs that gave me some really great opportunities. Those jobs allowed me to travel, work with A list clients, and even led me to meeting my husband. After our second child started school, I felt that fire to do something just for me, something outside of being a wife and a mother. I turned a hobby of baking into a small business and I began pursuing those teenage dreams of modeling. The moment I decided that I was worthy of accomplishing those dreams, everything changed.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For anyone who has pursued modeling or acting, you know it comes with a lot of rejection. While I have had some success, I have also been heartbroken. Over the last 4 years, I have learned to be grateful for the opportunities and the growth that each possibility brings my way. I popped a bottle of champagne when I found out I did NOT get chosen for something, not because I wasn’t sad, but because I was proud of myself for putting my hat in the ring. I know that all of the bumps in the road along the way make me stronger and more resilient. I continue to learn and grow, even when faced with disappointment.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am proud to say that a few years ago, at the age of 40, I signed my first modeling contract with the AMAX Agency. I began pursing modeling, my childhood dream, after applying to the a Sports Illustrated Swim Search at 39. While I am still in pursuit of becoming a SI Rookie, I have loved working as a model. I have shot with some absolutely incredible photographers, I was on the cover of the Belle Meade Lifestyle magazine, and I shot a few commercials for Nissan. I pride myself on my work ethic. I am fun and down to earth and I feel like I connect with the people I work with and create lasting relationships.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
My hope is to remind others, that no matter your dreams, you are worthy and capable. In everything I do, I want to inspire and encourage. I want you to live a life full of gratitude and joy. It only takes one moment for you to say “I believe in myself” and when you do, the possibilities are endless. It doesn’t matter your age, if there is a fire in your soul, add some fuel and make it happen! While I still have dreams I am pursuing, let me tell you that the journey has been beautiful and rewarding on its own.
