Life & Work with Brittany Moore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Moore.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Sure thing! I started playing guitar when I was 15. I taught myself basic chords and learned every song from Taylor Swift’s first album. From there, I started dabbling with songwriting and seemed to have a knack for it. I’m from Northwest Arkansas, and there’s not a huge music scene, so I played around town whenever and wherever I could. Fast forward to being 25 and married. I was still wanting to play music and write songs. So my husband and I decided to move to Nashville in September 2018! I’ve been here ever since and have loved every moment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not every day has been easy. Sometimes it’s hard to remember the big picture, and I have to remind myself there’s no set timeline or “right way” to succeed in Nashville. Everyone has their journey; what works for one person won’t always be the same path for the next. It can also be difficult when I’m not feeling my most creative self. Trying to have your creative hat on all the time can be a struggle. I’ve learned that sometimes giving space to the grind and taking breaks from writing can help give you more time to live and experience things so you can come back having more to be inspired about.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a songwriter and independent artist! I always joke and consider my writing “country whiplash” since I feel like I’m all over the board regarding my songs. I love to write the quirky stuff or the titles that not everyone wants to jump on first. I’m a firm believer that no title or idea is off-limits. Probably to date, one of my proudest moments was getting to play on the Bobby Bones Show. It was such a fun experience, and I’m thankful I could connect with such a large audience. The Bluebird Cafe recently asked me to participate in their Bluebird on 3rd event at 3rd & Lindsley. It was so full circle for me, and I felt so honored that they asked me to be a part of the day and play for a sold-out show.

Can you talk to us about the role of luck?
This is such an interesting question! I don’t feel like I have good luck or bad luck (if that’s possible? Haha). I have worked for the opportunities I’ve had and plan to continue to work until good luck comes my way! Supposedly a lot of hard work and a pinch of good luck is what it takes to make it in this town!
