Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Boling.
Hi Brooke, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in the Seattle area and went to undergrad in Washington State before heading to Georgia for graduate school at the Portfolio Center, where I studied art direction and design. From there, I jumped right into the creative world, working in art direction and photography for ad agencies, fashion magazines, record labels, and large corporate branding teams, including Target.
In 2002, I moved to Nashville and spent a year or so producing photo shoots for local photographers before joining Warner Brothers Records as their creative director. After years of agency and in-house experience, I decided to build something of my own. I founded Honor Creative in 2007, and we’ve been going strong ever since — helping clients bring their stories to life through thoughtful branding, design, and photography.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part, it’s been a smooth and fulfilling road. Like any creative career, there have been seasons of change and growth. The design and advertising world moves quickly, and Nashville’s creative scene is full of emerging talent, which has meant I’ve had the chance to mentor and train many younger designers over the years.
Early on, I realized how much I enjoy that teaching side of things. Helping people refine their eye, find their voice, and understand the business of creativity. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do now and something I’d love to expand on in the future through coaching young creatives and new creative companies.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Honor Creative, we specialize in building visual brands that feel intentional, elevated, and deeply connected to the people behind them. Our work spans branding, web design, photography, and social media. All woven together so that every touchpoint tells a cohesive story.
We’ve become known for our ability to bring brands to life through imagery. Instead of simply handing off a logo, we create the world around it. The tone, color, textures, photography, and digital presence that make it truly resonate.
What I’m most proud of is the relationships we’ve built and the trust our clients place in us. We take on a limited number of projects at a time so that each one gets the attention it deserves. Our clients know they’ll get a crafted, thoughtful experience from start to finish — and that human side of the process is what sets us apart.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’ve learned over the years that good design isn’t just about how something looks. It’s about how it makes people feel. Whether it’s a new business finding its footing or a seasoned brand ready for a refresh, my goal is always to create something that feels authentic and lasting.
Nashville has such a creative energy, and it’s been inspiring to grow alongside so many talented people and businesses here. I’m incredibly grateful for the clients, collaborators, and friends who’ve supported Honor Creative through the years. I’m excited for what’s next, including mentoring and coaching the next generation of creatives.
