Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan.
Hi Bryan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I became a Licensed Professional Counselor as a second career after many years of doing spiritual retreats, workshops, and spiritual formation. It was a “traumatic crash” during my early forties that led me to have to face the realities of a nervous system and brain shaped by childhood trauma. You could say that I had full-blown Complex PTSD accompanied by a host of physical symptoms and pain. After doing therapy for myself and become trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, I was getting back on my feet emotionally and physically, but there was something still missing. It was LENS Neurofeedback that became a game changer for rewiring my brain and body so that I could really feel like I was putting some of the old haunting traumas to rest in my body.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road at all. I grew up in Appalachia at ground zero of the Hatfield & McCoy feud, and I am a descendant of the McCoy side of that infamous clan war in the mountains of eastern, Kentucky. At various times in my adult life, I have battled with anxiety and depression along with PTSD type symptoms. Chronic headaches, gut issues, inflammation issues, fatigue and a constant ringing in my ears have been part of the authentic path I’ve been living for over five decades. But there is a wisdom that comes with “having to do your work” when it isn’t an option to do otherwise. The struggles don’t define me, and they have turned out to be a great source of inner growth and compassion.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and an Advanced Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. I mostly do LENS Neurofeedback treatments for patients.
LENS is a cutting edge, FDA approved treatment that helps the brain get unstuck from old patterns.

Motivation – Problems initiating tasks, shifting from one activity to another, and/or completing tasks.
Anxiety – Problems of anxiety system activity (too much uncomfortably-contained energy), persistent “anxiety”, restlessness, rumination, agitation, distractability, difficulty breathing, palpitations, tremor exacerbation, and sleep interruption.

Performance Optimization – Increases in functioning in the above areas in absence of any diagnosis.Improve concentration
But this is not all that my clients get when they work with me…
…I work with the body and the nervous system as a Sensorimotor Psychotherapist….This means that while I do a Lens treatment during a session, I can combine the LENS treatment with somatic interventions to help shift how the brain and nervous system self-regulate for optimal functioning.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If you are just beginning your healing journey, or you are looking to optimize your brain and nervous system to be as sharp as possible, it is important to take a wellness approach to change….trying something new, like LENS Neurofeedback, can speed up your healing or optimization levels.
Pay attention to how your body feels and listen to it… If you are having trouble regulating emotions or want to unlock your creative potential, consider LENS as a resource to help your brain better regulate itself.
If you are wanting to sleep better, let go of stress, or improve concentration, give LENS a shot.
LENS is remarkably effective, and over 85% of people who have used LENS have benefited significantly from it. Results can be seen quickly, often beginning within the first session, and are long lasting.
The sessions are gentle, and most changes are lasting. LENS offers personalized treatment by matching the feedback to the client’s own neurological pattern.
