Life & Work with Caleb Lindsey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb Lindsey.

Caleb Lindsey

Caleb, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved sports. They’ve been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. The worst thing any athlete can hear is, “You’re good enough to keep playing, but you’re too injured.

The injuries I sustained throughout my career eventually led to a life in professional sports fading away. My new purpose became learning as much as possible about the rehabilitation, sports performance, and biomechanical side of sports.

After graduating with my Master’s in Exercise Science from MTSU, I started working as a Personal Trainer and a Strength Coach in Murfreesboro at the MAC.

I opened my first business location (Middle Tennessee Performance) in March of 2020 just before the COVID shutdowns. Because of our amazing clients, athletes, and community, I was able to keep MTP open, continue to grow, and eventually expand into our current location.

Fast forward to now, we have rebranded as Hybrid Strength & Performance. I and my Assistant Strength Coach, Laura, get to work with amazing clients and athletes daily. Whether you’re a parent of three looking to get back in shape, a grandparent to 15 recovering from surgery, or an athlete looking to improve at your sport, you have a home at Hybrid.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course not. Nothing worth doing ever is, right?

Opening in March of 2020 was rough. We had to navigate through all of the unknowns of COVID, the constant worry we would have to shut down due to mandate or our sickness, etc.

We know it’s because of our Hybrid family, our spouses, parents, etc. that we are still here and growing weekly.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We work with just about anyone. Our name is Hybrid because we truly believe we have studied as many modalities as possible (bodybuilding, sports performance, CrossFit, etc.) to pull the positive pieces from each and provide the best possible programs for our clients.

Our specialty when it comes to adults is our Rehabilitation and Recovery from Injury. Most of our adult clients come to us to get in shape, lose weight, feel better, etc. But, most have a nagging injury, a past surgery, or something that limits them in their everyday life. We strive to help them recover from that while also reaching their physical goals.

When it comes to our athletes, we specialize in performance. Our athletes come to us to improve their speed, strength, explosiveness, power, joint and ligament health, etc. We work from the ground up building a strong foundation from 9-10 years old. That training then morphs into the high-level work we do with our high school and collegiate athletes.

I’m most proud of the standard our clients and athletes have set and maintain in our facility. Of course, there are daily wins at Hybrid (new PRs, scholarship offers, etc.) but those aren’t what stick out the most.

Our motto is “Consistent. Intentional. Work.” and our Hybrid family lives it daily.

I believe our attention to detail, level of commitment to safety, and ability to derive the best out of our clients sets us apart from others.
