Today we’d like to introduce you to Chad Truman (Wildwood) and Kate Miller (Wildwood).
Hi Chad and Kate, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Wildwood began where all great country stories do — on stage. Chad Truman and Kate Miller first crossed paths at a gig in Atlanta, and the musical chemistry was instant. What started as a chance connection grew into a powerhouse duo with a shared vision: make music that moves people.
Over the past four years, the band hit every stage they could, building a loyal and growing fanbase in the Salt Lake City area. But then, life threw a curveball — Kate accepted a job at a top law firm in Washington, D.C. Still, the music never stopped calling. So, she made the bold move: left the corporate world behind, packed her bags, and headed to Nashville to chase the dream full-time.
Chad, a Nashville native who’s been a full-time musician for ten years, already had connections there and together, they hit the gas — and haven’t looked back since. Wildwood has headlined shows in over 20 cities across Utah and Idaho, and shared the stage with legends like Diamond Rio, Deana Carter, Colin Raye, and Billy Dean. Their debut single was a breakout success, earning them both an Artist Development Deal with Go Long Entertainment and a sponsorship with Teton Guitars. Even Dan + Shay couldn’t help but shout them out, saying: “Y’ALL ARE SO GOOOOD!”
With Kate’s Southern soul and Chad’s Music City roots, Wildwood blends rich harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and high-energy performances into something truly unforgettable.
WILDWOOD is country music’s fastest rising act — and they’re just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Ha! Definitely some bumps and twists and turns! For Kate, it meant giving up the stability of a promising legal career — and the financial security that came with it — to completely change the trajectory of her life. For Chad, the biggest challenge has been the trade-offs that come with chasing a dream — mainly time away from home and family. It’s not easy, but we’re dedicated to building something bigger than us.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in original music that blends heartfelt lyrics and soulful harmonies. We’re known for our rich vocal blend, strong connection with audiences, and especially the high energy we bring to our live performances. One thing that sets us apart is that we’re a guy/girl country duo — which gives us a unique dynamic both vocally and on stage. What we’re most proud of is our original music and the reactions that our fans have at every show. Each song we write comes from a real place, and seeing people connect with those stories is what drives us.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Chad and his wife struggled with infertility for a few years and then had their little miracle babies Teddy and Alta. Kate loves to hike and recently hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day.
