Today, we’d like to introduce you to Charlotte Leigh.
Hi Charlotte, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My journey has truly been nothing short of a beautiful whirlwind. I started singing in church when I was in middle school, but my mom likes to say I was born singing.
In high school, I started playing gigs around my hometown and writing music of my own. This all ended up taking me to Los Angeles to work with songwriters, different producers, and songwriters on my own music. Fast forward, I went to school at the University of Arkansas for 2 years. During my time there, I was introduced to the Zac Brown Band through our family business.
In the Spring of 2017, I came to Nashville for the first time to record some of the songs I had written in high school. Just a few short months later, at 19, I decided to leave college in Arkansas and move to Nashville with nothing but my car and my dog to pursue music as a career. Since then, I have lived what feels like many lives. From working in retail to being a personal trainer to nannying full-time, I’ve always had multiple passions to go alongside my journey of making a living doing music.
Over the last 7 years, I have put out lots of music on streaming platforms, played in multiple states, and have fallen in love with many different passions of mine. I am a completely independent singer-songwriter who loves wine, wellness, and music. I’ve spent the last few years diving into self-growth, owning my multi-passionate spirit, and staying in love with music. I am so excited to put out the biggest music work I’ve ever put out this year while creating a brand and name for myself in music and beyond!
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It absolutely has not been a smooth road, but I truly believe that is what has made it so amazing. I would say the biggest struggle I have had is finding my purpose and place in music itself. Living in Nashville, being an artist trying to “make it” can be overwhelming, discouraging, and confusing at times.
What I’ve learned, especially over the last year, is that once you put hard, uncomfortable time into learning about who you were made to be, things truly begin to fall into place. I know for me, my version of “making it” is being able to do all the things I love while making a good living.
It’s a peaceful place when you switch your mindset to staying in love with your life while working hard and enjoying every step of the way.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m super proud and absolutely love my work and what I do on a day-to-day basis. First and foremost, I am a singer-songwriter. Music is woven into my bones I really believe. I play songwriter rounds, perform, do corporate gigs and also write for myself and others independently. Alongside my music, I am wildly passionate about the world of wine and the essence of wellness.
I love to share on my social media the kinds of wines I drink and the wellness protocols I follow while emphasizing the importance of balance. As my day job, I work remotely full-time for my family business. I am the social media and marketing manager, as well as the merchandise director. I absolutely love everything I do.
What’s next?
I am so excited for this year and everything it has to hold. There are lots of exciting things coming up! My next single will be out everywhere on May 31st. I will also be putting out LOTS more music this year, which I am super excited about, including my biggest work yet.
As far as everything else, I am so excited to continue building my brand as a multi-passionate person. I hope to launch my own wine company in the future, launch products, and continue to share my journey through wellness.
