Life & Work with Chelsea Logue of Wilson County

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Logue.

Hi Chelsea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi, I’m Chelsea with Chelsea Shae Photography— a Wilson County native and a photographer with a heart rooted deeply in storytelling. My journey with photography began in 2011, though the passion had been there long before I ever held a professional camera in my hands.

For years, I bounced from job to job, searching for something that truly lit me up inside. At 20, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. That pregnancy ended in heartbreak with a miscarriage at 13.5 weeks. I was lost, struggling to find joy again in a world that suddenly felt unfamiliar.

In the midst of healing, I began taking photos of my niece, just for fun. My best friend’s mom — Donna Goodall, who’s like a second mother to me — continued to encourage me, reminding me of the gift I had in capturing life’s quiet, meaningful moments.

On Black Friday in 2011, I finally took a leap of faith. At midnight, I stood in line with my mom and sisters and bought my very first Canon camera. That moment marked the beginning of a new chapter — one filled with healing, hope, and purpose.

Building this business while carrying the weight of my own loss wasn’t easy. Photographing growing families sometimes tugged at my heart in ways I can’t explain, but it also brought deep healing. Through my lens, I found light again.

Over the last 14 years, I’ve had the incredible honor of capturing the love, growth, and milestones of so many families. This isn’t just a job to me — it’s a calling. I care deeply for the families I photograph, and I’m endlessly grateful to be trusted with their most cherished moments.

In 2019, I became a mother to my daughter Ivy, and again in 2021 to my son Colt. Being their mama is the greatest joy of my life. Capturing their milestones — their first steps, birthdays, quiet everyday magic — has only deepened my love for what I do. They’re growing up watching what I’ve built, and it means the world to me that they see the heart behind it.

In 2022, I opened up my very own photography studio, who I now co own with Leigh Ann Remke, so I could continue to grow and create memories within those walls. I’ve also curated a client closet fully stocked with men’s, women’s, children’s, and newborn essentials — so you can show up stress-free, bringing nothing but yourselves and your love.

Over the years, I’ve discovered that photographing newborns is where my soul feels most at home. There’s something sacred about those early days — tiny fingers, sleepy snuggles, and the quiet beauty of new life. What makes it even sweeter is seeing Ivy already share that same love and fascination for babies. One day, I hope to have her working beside me.

To every family who has trusted me over the years — thank you. Thank you for letting me step into your world, even if just for a moment, to freeze time in a way that lasts forever. I can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds, and I’m so grateful you’re a part of it.

My husband—my high school sweetheart—and our children are my greatest supporters. They’ve cheered me on and encouraged me every step of the way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to where I am today has been anything but linear — filled with both highs and lows, lessons and growth. Like many creatives, there are days I second-guess myself — wondering if I’m doing enough, creating enough, or pushing myself in the right ways. But I’ve learned that I thrive most when I quiet the noise, stop overthinking, and simply let my creativity flow.

The journey hasn’t always been easy, but the moments of joy, connection, and purpose have far outweighed the challenges. And for that, I’m incredibly grateful.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m best known for photographing newborns and families — a journey that has allowed me to watch tiny babies grow into teenagers, capturing each milestone along the way. It’s been one of the greatest honors of my life to document these seasons and the love that lives within them.

What I’m most proud of is the care, patience, and genuine connection I bring to every session. The relationships I’ve built with my clients mean the world to me.

What sets me apart is my ability to truly connect — to see my clients as more than just clients, but as families I get to grow with, celebrate with, and create lasting memories for.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be from this area, as it’s allowed me to naturally build meaningful connections within a highly saturated industry.
