Life & Work with Colleen Burke of Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colleen Burke

Hi Colleen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a love for fashion from a very young age. All my years of shopping and styling myself has finally paid off and now I can help others too!

My family and I moved to Franklin almost 10 years ago and we totally fell in love with the city and the people. There is no other place that I would want to start my first business!

My husband always had a passion for entrepreneurship which inspired me to follow my own dreams. Although he has passed on, his legacy prevails through myself and my family.

The name CTGrace comes from a company my husband started for me before he passed. It stands for Colleen and Tim and the grace that I try to live out every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was pretty smooth early on however, opening at the end of Covid made it a bit more challenging. It has been up and down with day to day business as I believe the economy has had a great effect on the ebbs and flows of retail. As my lease has become due for my 3 year mark, I have decided to take the store in a different direction and close my brick and mortar store and do more events such as Fashion for a Fraction, Pumpkin Fest, Pilgrimage, and Christmas Village in Nashville come November. I am also pursuing personal shopping/styling and closet revamping. Excited to see where this new venture takes me…

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My love for fashion has been a part of my personality since I was very young. As a decorator can see a vision in a house, I can do the same with clothes. I believe God gives you many gifts (if you would call this a gift), fashion has always been mine. It makes me so happy to make my customers feel amazing in what they are wearing, and in turn gives an air of confidence. It Truly brings me joy to help others in their quest for fashion in their particular style!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Franklin and its small town feel but yet you are 25-30 from Nashville one of the greatest cities!
