Today we’d like to introduce you to Connor Clark.
Hi Connor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I sat down to write this out and walked myself through the paces of what I understood to be a quintessential response for the industry. I racked my brain and pinned down the details of my move to Nashville in 2016 and the immediate luck I had running into the drummer, Nick Howard. I sought to explain the difficulties I had finding other members who could be as dedicated as he was to a project with no pay and a prayer. I thought I should explain why our band has moved from the name ‘Zuma’ to ‘Crowkeeper’ to who we are today. I feel the need to explain how our freshman album ‘And Then The Revival’ is a chronological culmination of our sound’s development. However, with each factual detail I write the more I feel it takes away from what the experience actually was. At the end of it all, the band exists because of the friends I met along the way who believed in me enough to support the cause and make it their own; the ‘Blue Rhythm Revival’. Putting that into words is all too rigid.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh man.. I think I would have needed a lot of money for this to have ever been a smooth road. I think the biggest struggle is self doubt or comparing yourself to an other’s success. However, the music itself has always been smooth. I’ve always felt deeply connected and fulfilled with what we create together and that’s always been the motivator.

Connor Clark & Blue Rhythm Revival [CCBRR] stand as a testament to Rock and Roll. The music pays homage to royalty drawing inspiration from The Allman Brothers, Little Feat, Neil Young, Grateful Dead and Gov’t Mule to the pioneers of the present like All Them Witches, My Morning Jacket, Drive-By Truckers, Alabama Shakes, and Jason Isbell. The result is a sonic journey that bridges a gap between nostalgic echoes and a contemporary pulse of its own. A Revival focused around the soul of a jam with the heart of a song. We’re most proud of performing at the 2024 Sweetwater 420 Fest in Atlanta, GA where we opened up for Gov’t Mule and Grace Potter.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
When I was a kid we would have a yearly multi-family reunion where we’d all get together and play music. Throughout the year you’d learn a song that you just knew you HAD to play at ‘the Kentucky Jam’, Once the day came you finally got to turn the amp up and play your ‘set’ at the appropriate level. That feeling as a kid was so cool. It wasn’t a nervousness, it was more like an extreme palpable anticipation for one of the coolest things you got to do that year.
