Life & Work with Daniel Dyer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Dyer.

Daniel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan Recently in February, I applied for a ministry position in Tennessee with Messenger International.

After doing this my wife and I felt a tug to come out to Nashville for a week. While we were here God made it clear we were supposed to move to Tennessee. We went back home, sold most of our stuff, and moved to Tennessee 2 weeks later.

The day, we passed into the Tennessee border, our realtor called and our house was sold. My wife recently accepted a position working for Belmont University and I work in town as well!

We have 4 beautiful daughters, an odd dog, and a cat and we are loving Tennessee!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No matter where you travel in life eventually you shall encounter rough roads but it’s knowing you driving through it not parking there that matters. We left a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home with 2.5 acres and currently are in an extended stay motel but we are thankful!

There’s a peace that comes with obedience. We are starting to look for housing. Some of the struggles are navigating a family of 6 for an extended time in a 2 room motel but it’s not bad. I left with my mom’s blessing as well but she’s currently on hospice (her 78th birthday was Thursday) and she will be going to be with Jesus soon.

That’s bittersweet for me because I love my mom but want to be obedient to God in life!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I work at a furniture company but most people would say I’m known for talking about Jesus 24/7. I love God and truly love people!

My heart cry in life is to be faithful, to God, my wife and children, and anyone I can help!

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My dad would take me every weekend to this big flea market and I’d usually get an elephant ear. It was so cool seeing all the different items from all sorts of timelines new and old and people from all over the city.
