Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Lewis.
Hi Danielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My journey has taken a few different paths, but somehow they have all connected and led me to where I am today. I earned my degree in psychology and later went on to earn my master’s degree in business while also obtaining my esthetician license. I’ve always been passionate about helping people and have had a strong interest in health, wellness, and beauty.
While working in esthetics and helping others feel confident in their skin, I realized I needed to put that same energy into myself. Life had come with its share of stressors, and over time, I had gained weight while also learning how to navigate my mental health and living with bipolar disorder. I knew I wanted to take better care of myself physically and mentally, and that decision eventually led me to begin my weight loss journey.
I started documenting my experience on social media, initially just sharing what I was going through, what I was learning, what was working, and sometimes what was absolutely not working. Somewhere along the way, I realized people actually enjoyed listening to me talk about my life, which still makes me laugh.
I think what has made my content resonate with people is that I’ve never tried to be anyone other than myself. I’m naturally funny, I’m honest, and I’m not afraid to show the imperfect parts of the journey. I can share something educational one minute and laugh at myself the next. My audience gets the real version of me, and that authenticity has allowed me to build a community that genuinely trusts and connects with me.
What started as documenting my personal journey has grown into something I truly love and has opened doors I never imagined. Today, I create content centered around wellness, lifestyle, fitness, beauty, travel, and everyday life. I’ve been able to combine my education, business background, esthetics experience, and personal journey into a platform that allows me to help people, make them laugh, and hopefully remind them that you can be a work in progress and still enjoy yourself along the way.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. There were seasons where I was working 40 hours a week, going to school almost another 40 hours a week, raising my daughter, building a family, and barely sleeping. I have always been extremely driven and goal oriented, so once I accomplish one thing, my mind is usually already on the next. Sometimes I have to remind myself to actually slow down and enjoy what I have worked so hard for.
There were also plenty of times when I wanted to give up. I would literally ask myself, “Am I doing all of this for no reason?” Especially with content creation, because it can be so hit or miss. You can put your heart into something, watch someone else’s content take off, and immediately start questioning yourself. I have had to constantly remind myself that comparison really is the thief of joy.
Looking back now, none of it was for no reason. Every long night, every setback, every moment of doubt, and every time I kept going when I wanted to quit was preparing me for something.
One thing I truly stand on is that what is for me will always be for me, and that is something I want other people to remember too. What is for you will always be for you. Keep pushing, stay focused on your own path, and trust your timing.
This road is never easy, and I have been nonstop for so long that sometimes I forget to take a second to breathe. But I am learning that I can still be ambitious, still chase every goal I have, and also take the time to appreciate how far I have already come.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m at a point in my career where I truly feel like I’m building an empire, and content creation has become the heart of it. What started as simply documenting my life, my wellness journey, and my weight loss has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. I realized that by sharing the real parts of my journey, the wins, the struggles, the lessons, and everything in between, I could motivate other people to keep going in their own lives too.
What I am most proud of is the community I have been able to build by simply being myself. I am passionate about creating content that feels relatable, informative, fun, and honest. I want people to see my journey and know that they do not have to have everything figured out before they start. Sometimes people just need a space where they feel seen, encouraged, and reminded that they can keep pushing.
My background in aesthetics is still a huge part of who I am, and I do not plan on walking away from that. I am currently working toward opening my own brick and mortar salon suites, where beauty and wellness professionals can have a space to build businesses of their own. I love the idea of creating something that not only supports my dreams, but gives other entrepreneurs room to grow as well.
At the same time, I have fallen even more in love with content creation because of how many people I can reach and help through it. My weight loss journey changed so much for me physically, mentally, and professionally, and documenting that transformation opened the door to an entirely new chapter of my life.
What sets me apart is that I am not trying to present a perfectly polished life. I want to document the entire journey as I live it. I want people to watch me build, grow, learn, pivot, succeed, and sometimes figure it out in real time. I am passionate about everything I put my name on, and my goal is to continue building a brand that brings together wellness, beauty, lifestyle, entrepreneurship, and most importantly, authenticity.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always outgoing, determined, and a Leo through and through. I have always been very independent and self sufficient. If there was something I wanted, I was going to figure out how to get it. I have never been afraid of working hard, trying again, or going after something even when it felt difficult.
I was also very active and played sports, so I have always had that competitive side to me. I loved being involved and fully present in whatever I was a part of. And one thing about me, when I walk into a room, people remember me. I have always had a big personality and a presence that naturally stands out. It is not something I have ever had to force. I just show up as myself.
Looking back, so much of who I am today was already there. I have always been ambitious, persistent, social, confident, and the type of person who does not stop until I accomplish what I set out to do.
