Today we’d like to introduce you to Darryl Jaye.
Hi Darryl, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From Murfreesboro, started djing in middle school, was a break dancer, graduated from Oakland Highschool, went to Draughns junior college for radio Broadcasting, started as an intern at 92Q in 1990. Started as part-time as announcer on 92Q from 1990-1997. Contiuned to dj and host events. Started producing mix-cd in 1996, then partnered with DJ Cwiz and started promoting our own events in 1997.
Took a break from djing to get my Doctor of Pharmacology from Hampton University School of Pharmacy in 2012.
Started 30andnashville with DJ C-Wiz in 2015 to promote events at various locations for the 30 and over age group in the middle TN area.
Now I am a full-time pharmacist, I still produce voice-overs for various businesses and promote events with my DJ partner C-Wiz.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The main challenge is you have to evolve, change is going to happen whether you like it or not. Being flexible, willing to adapt and convincing your team that we have to pay attention to trends, culture and what’s going to be hot next is the biggest challenge.
Nobody cares what you use to do, where you’ve been, they only care about NOW!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have been a licenced pharmacist since 2012, but I am more known for DJing and promoting events.
I enjoy having two different careers, change is good.
I am also proud to announce that I became a member Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., the Pi Gamma Gamma Chapter.
