Life & Work with Dr. Jared Rogers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jared Rogers.

Hi Dr. Rogers, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I lost my stepfather, who was also my best friend to an overdose of oxy in 2006. After years of trying to find my place, I obtained a Ph.D. in forensic psychology from Walden University.

Now, I use my education and knowledge to conduct documentaries on the aftermath of addiction, suicide, and mental illness. My goal is to show the world a new perspective on those above-mentioned topics and, hopefully, change lives for the better.

This is why I started Hallowed Truth LLC. I am also a singer/songwriter putting an album together based on finding faith.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a difficult road.

Building this business and putting these projects together has taken much time and energy; however, it has been worth every step. The most challenging factor is getting over the fear of putting myself out there.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I cannot say what I am known for. I am still building that part of my journey for my documentaries and music.

I also have a podcast where anyone willing is welcome to share their story. My work takes me to new places where I meet new people often. Individuals that have been affected by addiction, Suicide, and mental health, have been a great support system for this journey. My goal is to save lives by sharing the stories of those already affected.

I am most proud of the messages I receive on social media supporting what I am doing. Many people write to me asking if they can share their story concerning addiction, suicide, and mental health.

What sets me apart from others is that I am not in this to judge a lifestyle, I am not in this for financial gain, I am in this to save others from the heartache I suffered.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am willing to work with anyone with the goal to save lives.

If someone is interested in putting a film together, or an event that focuses on the realness of how these topics affect not only the individuals that face the aftermath but also affect the world, I am in. Concerning music, I would love to write with anyone willing to tell a story. I would love to play more live shows with artists wanting to get out there and have a blast.

Anyone interested in supporting these ventures is welcome. There are many ways to do so. They would just have to contact me and we can go over how they would like to contribute. It is not always about money. Sometimes, contributing one’s story on addiction, suicide, and mental illness is the best way.
