Life & Work with Elizabeth Lawson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Lawson.

Hi Elizabeth, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have always loved serving and loving others (enneagram 2) so I was always involved in careers where I got to do that (customer service, education) but I always felt like there was something else for me. When my husband and I purchased our first home in 2018, I felt a pull like I never had before. So I decided to dive in headfirst and figure it out as I went. I am with and AMAZING company and office, EXIT Real Estate Experts full of amazing agents and some of the best people I’ve ever met. Getting to guide families through this huge milestone in their lives is so humbling and I have met some wonderful people through this career so far. My peers and clients challenge me to be better everyday.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been plenty of challenges of course. Going from getting a paycheck every two weeks to being self-employed was so scary.

I think my biggest challenge is my availability. Since I can work anywhere, I do. A few months ago, I was driving down to Orange Beach and almost the entire 8-hour drive, I was answering calls and responding to emails and texts. Letting myself “take a break” is hard sometimes. Learning how to be better at that everyday.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a Realtor, I get to help people buy, sell and invest in real estate.

I pride myself on my business model, which is to listen to my clients’ needs, put a plan in place for them to reach their goals, and communicate through every step. What often starts out as a business transaction ends in a lifelong friendship.

I am very proud that I am a Disney Agent of Excellence. Which is a real estate designation for agents who go through a very special training with Dan Cockrell, the former VP of Magic Kingdom, about incorporating Disney’s principles of service into your real estate business.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have SO MANY amazing people in my corner. Most importantly, my family and friends but I will single a few people out who I think deserve a little extra love from me. Joe, Nancy, John Alex and Christian Foster-My family. They shaped me into who I am today and I wouldn’t be where I am without them.

Corey Lawson – my husband who has supported me in every way possible and believes in me even if I don’t believe in myself. I love you cutie.

April Harrington-My mentor and Broker. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know if I would have been brave enough to make the leap. She saw the potential in me and helped me see it in myself. I strive to be more like her everyday.

Erin Jones-Fellow agent. She was another key player in helping me learn and grow as an agent and as a human. Her drive and kindness is an inspiration everyday.

Caitlin Key-My Transaction Coordinator. I only met her this year but she has helped me level up my game in more ways than one.
