Life & Work with Emmi Granlund

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmi Granlund.

Emmi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Finland: I was making art and singing all my childhood, I also played volleyball and did gymnastics. I won a modeling competition when I was 18. I signed with a modeling agency in Helsinki and worked as a model in Helsinki and in Milan, started studying interior architecture & design, and also started painting abstract artworks. At the time I also started styling photoshoots and creating my own designs for them.

Today I have multiple businesses: Atelier Granlund, my art brand; CHAINE, my holistic design studio, and Fedited.com, the platform for well-being in the levels of mind, body & soul and finding out your greatest potential in life. I am fascinated by quantum physics and the power of frequencies – how for example meditation or music can affect your state of being and your reality. A few years ago, I started getting songs as downloads, and recently I’ve started to learn more about music production.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been living between Finland, where my businesses are, and Nashville because of my husband, whose career is here in the States: for almost a decade I’ve been flying between Minneapolis and Helsinki and for the past three years we’ve called Nashville home, living in Helsinki for the summers.

We are lucky to have two sweet, healthy sons who are ten months and three years old. But along the way we lost a baby girl when I was 23 weeks pregnant, in March 2020, right when covid and the tornado happened here as well. But I want to believe that everything happens for a reason and that loss has taught me so much about spirituality and one’s path on this Earth and beyond. Music has been a huge part of my healing process, and I wish my songs can bring the feeling of hope and love to others as well.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Currently, I’m trying to push my limits as an artist: I’m exploring different painting techniques, color therapy, songwriting, sound healing, frequencies, feng shui, soul purpose coach studies, and music production studies, and deepening my spiritual practices. I can get inspired by a specific tone of mint or a French cafeteria and get carried away finding a new song or a new painting or dress or. for me the creativity comes in many forms and it always feeds it more and more, it’s fascinating to me how paintings can inspire songs and vice versa.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Just don’t doubt yourself. Don’t limit your creativity to just one field. Just do the work and feel the feels of flow. Your dreams have been given to you for a reason.
